I'm thinking of buying a flat at Wordsworth Court, on Herries Road. I've been advised against it, because of ther area & crime level. It is the ideal location for work etc... but what people are saying about the area is putting me off. Does anyone know that area who can advise me on this move?

I used to live on Wordsworth Avenue, I was there from 1990 until 2002 and believe me, its a hell hole. I`m still in touch with people who live there and theyre so nervous about all the yobs in the area, and about getting their houses burgled and cars vandalized that they cant sleep at night. There are only a relatively few little sods in the area now, but those few make up for an entire gang of thugs. Wordsworth court is well within their range because since the demolition or most of Parson Cross, they have to travel to do their vandalising.

To be honest i wouldn't live there if they gave me the flat free, i used to live just up the road and we had loads of trouble, stealing, burglaries etc. I hope this helps.

Its catch 22, i've looked at the same type of flat outside Sheffield going toward Stocksbridge & the price goes up £30K

I live near there and I have no problems at all. I live on a lovely road with lovely people. An occasional football in the garden is the worst it gets. Think those flats are a bit expensive for what you get though.
