Yes, you can use internet in libraries for free, I think there is a time restriction though.

My only experince of library internet however is Detroit Public Library.

Its free and easy: if you are a member of the library just go in and book a session the max you can use is one hour. If you can ring and book in advance . If you have already used your (daily ) hour and the computers are free they will let you continue but if someone who hasnt been on on that day turns up you are asked to come off.

If you use the printer (B&W only) its 5p per A4 sheet.

If you are not a member you will need "something with your address on" driving licence , utility bill, bank statement. and something with your signiture on : bank card etc.

Its very easy to book and use I use it daily if I am not at work

Its the same in all Sheffield librarys.

Most others are simular I am a member of both North Yorks and Wakefield as I work in those areas.

as an amendum to bus mans comprehensive advice - re computers at the central library - sometimes the computers in one particularly library room are booked up for hours, but there are online facilities in every library room, even the record library, so in that case its worth going from library to library to see if theres any free sessions anywhere else.

It’s one of Tony Blair’s better ideas : computers available to everyone!

Or try visiting another of the local UKonline centres. You can find the closest one here.

Yes it is, I used to use the one at manor top all the time. It is for an hour but they only throw you off when someone wants to use it, all the other computers are full and you have been on the longest. I have used them all day before now, never anyone in there through the day.
