Is it normal to not lay a layer of concrete onto the earth below a suspended floor. It seems our builders are leaving bare earth, but are using a DPM.?

Thanks macdee 15-05-2006, 14:28 If they are using a membrane it requires 2inch of concrete on top to prevent anything growing, without membrane you need 4inch of concrete. Just in case any body else on the forum fancies using them :rolleyes: willman 24-05-2006, 07:10 i used 4 inch of concrete, followed by membrane(as much for gasses apparently as moisture?)then beams and suspended floor with poly insulation in gaps. if you're gonna tile the floor don't let them lay chipboard - they dont stick.it needs to be ply. |
