Thinking of buying a house in the new development opposite Winn Gardens. Don't really know what that area's like. Has anyone got any suggestions? Is it as bad as the Manor?

Why what's the matter? We're seriously considering buying a house opposite on the new estate. Should we be worried about the Winn Gardens estate?

Winn Gardens does have a bad rep but I believe the tower block there is to be pulled down and hopefully any problems there might ease. Wadsley Park village does seem reasonably popular and houses are selling quite well - I don't believe Winn Gardens affects it. I own a flat there that I let out and apart from an apparent problem a few weeks ago with youngsters that live on the estate ( police stepped in and hopefully sorted it) it seems quiet and well maintained. Also, house prices have risen fairly well which I suppose is a good sign.

No problems at all, quite quiet really...you get the odd bunch of kids at the bottom of WPV but they don't tend to venture any further...

I have been brought up on the winn gardens estate and i must admitt that at one point it was very bad, i have to admitt i hung around with most of the people that made it like that, but now we have grown up and moved on, the youngsters that hang around in the winn gardens area are younger and don't cause any trouble, it's not half as bad as it used to be.
