Hello all,

I have been dabbling in Wing Chun for a while now. I used to train at Ponds Forge before those classes unfortunately ended. Just a thought, I can see the value of drills and chi sao etc. However, for those of you out there practicing Wing Chun......when would you say/have started sparring in your training? Also, how was it worked up to?

Cheers

I would say you have to have some basics first.
I do sparring from when the person wants to do it, some people do and some don’t.

I run a Sanda (Chinese Kickboxing Class) on a Thursday night in Dinnington and on a Friday morning, that is when I do the training for sparring as it can be a little hard to do during a normal class.

There is a discussion about pros and cons about sparring and chi sau going on at the moment at www.mfcba.co.uk might be worth signing up and having a look.
