Does anyone use kennels that they could recommend? I've got two dogs that I want to share a kennel, but want a good boarding kennel - some of the kennels arent fit for any kind on animals!
Cheers,
G.

Rich 14-05-2004, 15:06 I think there's one up Riveln Valley way, somewhere in the vicinity of Manchester Road I think. Alternatively here's (http://www.yell.com/search/DoSearch?screen=VAL&state=MID&location=SHEFFIELD&broaderLocation=SOUTH+YORKSHIRE%7CYORKS+AND+HUMBER SIDE%7CENGLAND%7CUNITED+KINGDOM&targetName=&businessType=BOARDING+KENNELS&alpha=10+448c300&ahpla=11+548c300&mqs=xi) a list of the phone numbers of all the boarding kennels in Sheffield. Hope that helps :) PaulTansley 14-05-2004, 16:26 I have used one twice in the last month at Bradfield and it is a decent place and they are walked regulary. Its £7 per night and that includes food and heating. PM me if you require further details. CR deecee 14-05-2004, 22:08 hiya Floyd 77 We have two very spoilt Dobermann dogs and a pampered cat, we board them at "Rainbow Hill " boarding kennels , Woodhead Road, Wortley . Their telephone number is : 0114 2467410 we were worried about leaving them at first because they are rescue dogs and had their problems , and like you we searched for a nice "holiday" place for them, we were told about these people by the vet . The kennels are double ones and the dogs are exercised in a big field, they have clean beds , toys and they even leave a radio on for them for a bit of company. I think it costs £6 a night including food. Best thing is to check it out for yourself hope this helps deecee Umeeksk 15-05-2004, 02:25 Originally posted by Rich I think there's one up Riveln Valley way, somewhere in the vicinity of Manchester Road I think. Been to Moscar before and wasnt overly impressed, but have definately seen worse! Cheers for the recommendations everyone. m0nk33yb0y 21-06-2010, 13:14 I know for a fact that at Moscar boarding kennels, the kennel block is very cold, dogs do not get walked every day like they claim, boiled water is added to dry complete dog food, heating does not go on at night. Staff barely have any time to spend with the animals making sure they are all settled in. Nervous dogs that are scared of people bare even get looked at. It is very under staffed which is not very good as dogs are not having the time spent with them to make sure they settle well. Cats on the other hand sometimes dont even get seen to until 2 in the afternoon, medication has been forgotten to be given to the cats until last thing at night. I have got all my information from a very reliable source. I certainly would not board my animals there. The only plus side is some of the staff are very friendly and helpful. brianthedog 21-06-2010, 13:56 My dog is always happy to be going back to Moscar. She's a very lively and friendly pooch so if she was getting ignored for any period of time she'd be very unhappy the next time we took her. She's always pleased to see us when we collect her but that's normal - plus she always looks well fed and energetic. I'm amused to note your first post is to seek out a 6 year old thread to slate a business, without qualifying what you've said... If you know for a fact - prove it... dongle 21-06-2010, 14:02 we have used these for the past 12 years at least twice a year, they can also wash and groom ready for picking up on your return http://www.boweslyon.biz/default.htm stressconsul 21-06-2010, 14:09 My GSD has stayed at Moscar many times - once she so fell in love with the young woman caring for her that she did not want to come home. m0nk33yb0y 21-06-2010, 15:39 Firstly, I used to work there and quit. Secondly I never said all the dogs are unhappy and not looked after. I know that there are quite a few happy dogs there, but i also know that alot don't seem very happy! And thirdly I did not look for the post, I found it when I searched Moscar Boarding Kennels and it came up so I thought I'd give a more updated view on how the kennels are. There are very few members of staff that actually are willing to go in with the dogs and play with them. I used to even with dogs that had been known to bite, them dogs were very happy while they were playing. At the kennels they just need to sort out their problems and they will actually be a very nice kennels for the dogs. orlaf 30-06-2010, 09:02 Hi, I suppose our experience or Moscar has not been good. Our Dog couldn't get away fast enough. He was straining on the leash and he appeared to be quite stressed. I think its because hes a very well tempered dog and the noise levels are just huge. The racket is appalling. spottie2101 30-06-2010, 17:58 I cannot recommend Gibdyke Lodge highly enough, its a bit further possibly but if you look on other threads about this same subject i cannot recommend them highly enough. lulaver 07-09-2010, 19:42 I just wanted to add a comment about Moscar as I feel a disgruntled former employee is putting a bad name to a very good business. Moscar Kennels is a fantastic establishment with thousands spent in the past couple of years to seriously pamper those most loved pets. We have a bulldog who needs some serious looking after and he absolutely loves going to Moscar. All the outside kennels have underfloor heating, daily walks and an impressive aquatic pool too! Highly recommend this kennel for any pet. pets@home 07-09-2010, 21:14 Lindrick kennels lindrick common just through n.anston ,very friendly , Amyrach 13-09-2010, 16:49 croft farm kennels just off A57 at aston themissus 13-09-2010, 17:26 Lindrick kennels lindrick common just through n.anston ,very friendly , I wasn't keen on them, seemed to smell of bleach when I went for a look round. I use Dunstan Lodge in chesterfield. Not cheap, but set in woods, 1 kennel maid to 2/3 dogs, I adore it there. And who cares about the price when they're caring for your pooch! mglrgn31 13-09-2010, 17:45 another vote for dunston lodge, fantastic place. they will also collect of getting there is a problem.
