What should i do
went to ASK restaurant in town orded a pasta dish and after only two mouthfulls i found a piece of Glass/plastic embeded in the top of my mouth. (bleeding a little by now)
i pulled it out gave it to a waitress it was so sharp she cut her finger on it, . She asked me if i would like somthing else off the menue for free NO !! i'm bleeding.
Small children, and babies were all in the same place. !!! I couldn't eat anything that night, not only because of the pain but the thought of it happening again.
should i take it any further they have offered a free meal voucher is it worth that as i'm never going there again.? Head office was going to get back to me nothing yet so i have just had to chase them up on the phone, should i be doing the chasing or is eating razor sharp glass an everyday event for ASK!
To be honest The staff on the night do care. Head office don't give a ****.
if anyone has any contructive advise on what to do please le me know.

Write a letter to the head people rather than phoning them.Keep a copy of it and the date sent. That's all you can do,threatening to take legal action (your tongue/mouth may have become infected)might work.

I would definately take this further mate. As the staff didn't seem bothered and they treated you badly it's all the more reason to. Also think about others it may happen too, small children etc. Plus you might get a shed load of cash out of it. I'd give watchdog a ring they give advice bout this sorta thing.

If you are planning on pursuing this into the courts you better get yourself ASAP into a hospital and have an official record of the injuries to your mouth.

Not to further a culture of litigation but glass in your food is a bad thing.

Also worth going to hospital to check you haven't swallowed any... glass can lead to major internal damage... do it now.

Well I'm sure they didn't do it on purpose - what else do you expect them to do apart from give you a free meal or two? It's an accident, it happens. It's happened to me with drinks a few times where glass has chipped off a glass or bottle into my drink - I took it back, they apologised and gave me a few drinks - don't see the reason in taking it any further as long as they acknowledged they'd screwed up.

I'd report them to the council sounds like they need to have a food safety check on their kitchens !

Hope the mouth's healing!

Agreed with both of the last two posts. Stuff sometimes happens, but they you should mention it to Environmental Health at the Council so they can check out the kitchen.

Don't demean yourself by making a legal claim, but accept the ASK offer in good grace while making sure they tighten up.

1) make a witnessed not and photograph if necessary, of injury sustained
2) Write to head office and don't ask for anything: a lot of the time this will encourage them to do something because they haven't been asked
3) Also point our your general concern for other customers, staff and children
4) Contact local council EHO and report incident: it's important this is carried out aso they can find the source of the glass/plastic because it could have come from factory
5) Don't really let rip at them, remain calm and pro and if you need any legal advice, pm me

I had an incident with a loaf of bread recently where I found a piece of metal in it. I contacted environmental health who took the metal and loaf and did a full investigation of the factory where it was made. It was from a baking tin and had managed to get through all security x rays.

I was sent £100 by the bakers to apologise and environmental health were satisfied.

Your case could be an accident, but it needs investigating.
