Hi

Just been announced that the company I work for are relocating to Sheffield Business park (old Sheffield airport)

Anyone work there at the moment and have any thoughts on it, access? Bike security? Travel to it? etc

We are moving from town so it’s going to be a shock for some people.

It is still an airport and not "old sheffield airport".

It's an Airport, so chances are it'll have no security issues, most Airports are like Fortresses these days what with the increased risk of terrorism since 9/11.

Is it one of those business units on Europa Link?

If it is they are really well situated, plenty of parking but not much in the way of public transport. Nice views over the land next to the runway with plenty of Skylarks singing away all the time.

It will be different from being in town because there are no shops or anyhting to do at lunchtime. I do believe little butty vans or pasty vans go there at lunchtimes to ply their trade.

Access has improved since I worked up there - if you don't mind strolling from BigW, now the new A3/A4 buses are running. It's an odd place to work, looking out over a quiet field, with cows moseying about in the background, and only the odd police helicopter to break the peaceful calm through the day :thumbsup:

You could see if you could start up a car-share thing before relocation actually takes place ;)

you will be alright if you can put up with the helicopters and the light planes what keeps taking off from there, I was up there last tuesday went to have a look at a friends helicopter what he as just bought waste of money if you ask me, mind you its like he says you can tell the men from the boys by the size of there toys.

Siemens eh.... bad news aint it! I don't want to move either but what can you do!

I'm fine with it, You have to adapt sometimes and it will mean my pushbike so its ok and to be honest i would rather it was this than cutting costs the other way ;-)
