When someone arrange to meet you, do you always arrive early, on time or late?
Does it annoy you when someone turns up very late?

Grissom 13-05-2004, 23:57 Depends if this is a work meeting or a social one - at work I am always early as usually have sommat to present and hence need to get material onto laptop, distribute handouts in the room etc. Hate it when people arrive late. HOWEVER socially its ok to be a few mins late, and we all know women run on a different time zone anyhows so they are always 'fashionably late' :P  Jamie 14-05-2004, 00:06 YEAH !!! People who turn up late on a regular basis to the sunday night game ... scatterheart 14-05-2004, 11:37 For work I am generally there about 5 minutes early, for uni I am usually about 5 minutes late  And if I'm meeting a friend usually again, 5 minutes or so late. I just don't know what happens, it's as though time suddenly speeds up when it knows I'm in a rush :P Titian 14-05-2004, 11:51 There is a theory that you might find interesting if you asked around. I was a prem baby and I am always early for meetings. I get panicked if my arrival is actually on time. I have asked other people and if they were prem they seem to have the same problem. The thoery/old wives tale is that if you were prem you tend to be quite an impatient person. It fits me anyway. CaptainSleep 14-05-2004, 12:14 i was late for work this morning angel_b 14-05-2004, 13:36 Normally, my time keeping is excellent. I arrive at work about twenty minutes before I need to be there, which gives me time to get a drink, sort out my desk etc. Socially, I'm usually a few minutes early too - everyone seems to use me as a reference/meeting point because they know I'll be there first! However, having said all that I was late for my own wedding last week! Titian 14-05-2004, 14:03 Assuming that you are female I think that it's supposed to be the done thing anyway , to keep the groom waiting. If you are male....................Shame on you angel_b 14-05-2004, 15:28 I'm female, and I was about ten minutes late. Not to keep him waiting/wondering, but because the torrential rain had slowed traffic (and there was already plenty of it!) to a grinding halt! Titian 14-05-2004, 15:40 Oh No!!! did you dress get ruined? Hope you had a great day inspite of the weather. I got married the day before christmas eve..............that was cold too. angel_b 14-05-2004, 15:48 Yup! It was a silvery-grey satin so the back got watermarked quite badly, especially seeing as I had a bit of a train as well. Our day wasn't ruined at all, but having hired a reportage-style photographer, he delighted in snapping away while I was running through the Peace Gardens at full pelt with my dress hitched up so high I was almost flashing! When we got to the reception, I had to disappear (up ten flights of stair cos the lift was broken!) to get my hair dried and straightened and make-up reapplied, seeing as it was all running down my face! At least then I looked fresh as a daisy, while the rest of my guests were all still drenched ;-) Chris_Sleeps 16-05-2004, 12:09 Originally posted by bonny I was a prem baby and I am always early for meetings. I was a few weeks late being born and now i find it a bit tough to actually get anywhere on time, maybe it is linked. Chris. Lickszz 16-05-2004, 12:27 It depends on how highly I value the meeting. If the person/meeting are important to me then I shall be there before time. If not then I'll turn up slightly late as a rule. Mosherchik 16-05-2004, 14:32 I always attempt to get there early or on time, cos I hate having to rush about, but then public transport conspires against me... breakdown...missing trams etc... If someone Im meeting is late, the longest I have been known to wait is a good hour... yup sad I know. Bit of a doormat truth be told, but Im getting better :D this doormat is liable to trip a few people up nowadays  :D princess_rockchick 16-05-2004, 14:37 I pefare people to be on time, but then i do not mine 5 - 10 minutes each way, but any later than that without the person letting me know tends to annoy me. Rich 16-05-2004, 14:58 I'm always either early or bang on time, only time I'm late is if the bus or tram is late turning up or if I get lost trying to find the place where I'm supposed to be meeting whoever. rlloyd 16-05-2004, 21:38 Originally posted by bonny There is a theory that you might find interesting if you asked around. I'm always early for meetings (work and social). |
