Have had official Adobe Audition software installed for 2 years and ran fine. Now since Windows did an auto update yesterday the software refuses to run, I get an error window that says UNKNOWN ERROR STARTING THE APPLICATION.

I uninstalld and then re botted and re-installed the software but the same happens. How can a Windows update effect other software like this? No other software seems to be having problems, just the Adobe one.

Do I need to roll back the windows updates to sort this out, and which one as it did a whole lot of updates last night on its weekly allowed auto update routine.

is there anything on the adobe site or audition forums ?

I recall macromedia had to bring out some patches when xp sp 2 came out

well it fixed itself rather strangely while I was out to lunch........perculiar software....

Recently every time I've started photoshop it's asked me to activate the software. I think recent Windows updates haven't been that stable tbh - everything seemed to bugger up all the time!
