Being married to someone who operates on the NHS frontline enables me to truly appreciate the fantastic work that they do, inevitably it also enables me to place my life into context.
So do it today folks! lifes not a rehearsal.

Yep, the NHS have always patched me up and watching them work has always amazed me.
They work an often thankless task and i dont think many people appreciate what goes into it.
Maybe because it's free, people just expect to be given all the help they need whenever they need it.
Stories like this should make us realise how lucky we are!
Respect goes out to all those who work like mad sorting us out when we go wrong!

Yep even with the problems with the NHS I'm still glad we've got it - they do work very hard and it can't be easy for them.
Having said that, quite why it took 2 GP's and 3 nurses a period of 3 months to eventually agree to send me for an xray where I found my foot was fractured twice (which I was 99% sure of anyway) is more than slightly annoying.
sorry i had to laugh when i saw this thread title!!
NHS? thankyou?? have they ever been in the same sentence before??

Eeeek ! Just seen this regarding lack of dentists :

"But perhaps the starkest reminder of the town's dental crisis came from pensioner Valerie Halsworth who raided her husband's toolbox to yank out five of her teeth with pliers.
"I couldn't have done it without a drink," said the 64-year-old, who lost her place at the surgery she had been visiting for over 30 years when her time in between appointments exceeded new government guidelines.
