View Full Version : Anyone eat tapas in Sheffield?
SHsheff 09-05-2006, 01:51 PM I've had a look back thru' past threads but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of up-to-date info.
We've tried West Street, anyone any recommendations or comments please about the place at Crookes? Ecclesall Road?
Cheers.

Dirklaub 09-05-2006, 02:30 PM Hi
There's a new place on Eccy Road called La Vina - spanish, sells Tapas etc....myself and girlfriend tried to get in on Bank Holiday monday and it was snided - smelt really nice aswell so that's always an option.
officegirl 09-05-2006, 02:32 PM cubana - fab
las iguanas - love the 2 for one cocktails especailly the raspberry martini's, tapas menu shorter than it use to be but lots of spicey nice things.
spinrocks - not bad - tasty food - good night if there is a large group
La Mancha- not been
wig and pen - rather tasty
Tequilla - lovely and they do cocktail offers too
cant think of anywhere else ive been for tapas, but if in doubt go to cubana or las iguanas.
CellarDoor 09-05-2006, 02:42 PM Which one did you try on West Street? I went to La Mancha not long back and thought that was pretty good
SHsheff 09-05-2006, 02:44 PM Las iguanas it is! Thanks for the other suggestions too.
I've just checked out the menu on the website http://www.lasiguanas.com/menupop.asp?MenuID=1. Just had my lunch but now I'm starving again!
Cheesemouse1 09-05-2006, 02:51 PM they do them at Runaway Girl too and they are really nice
There are loads of places that do tapas, but many of them want you to eat it as a meal, not a snack. :(

Fortunately, I want to eat it as a meal!
You mean like Spaniards (apparently) do, don't you Tony? To fill a little gap on your way home to your proper meal. :)

Yes, been there a few times and it's always good. Fancied a change this time!

111 Arundel Street, near Hallam Uni. Supposed to be really good but I've not got around to trying it yet.

Ah, thank you.
defstef 10-05-2006, 12:52 PM I had the delight of sampling The Wig & Pen's tapas fares last night...rather tasty I must say. The food's always really good from there, anyway. I should particularly recommend the artichokes with goat's cheese and sun-blushed tommies - heaven.
shells2909 10-05-2006, 07:18 PM Cubanna's (think that's how its spelt) on trippett lane - gorgeous tapas and not too expensive either! give it a whirl :)
funkyukgal 11-05-2006, 02:55 AM La Tasca www.latasca.co.uk in meadowhall..not sure if theres one in town..
Its not expensive and service isnt bad too :)
pete_jim 11-05-2006, 10:24 AM The review in the Star last night really rated the tapas at the Mediteranean restaurant on Sharrowvale Road. It's consistently mentioned in reviews and things must be worth a try.
