hi does anyone know any of the bagshaw family?

You do not give any indication of time? I went to school with a Graham Bagshaw who lived on Dudley Rd. off Middlewood Rd, Hillsborough. As a lad he was a competent xyzolophone player. He left grammar school and joined the police force. He will be about 65 now.

I used to be a Bagshaw before getting married. My uncle was George Bagshaw (Bobby Charlton look alike). My father was Ron and I have an aunt who is Mary. They lived on Bramall Lane from round about the 1930's. My dad always said that his grandad once paid the wages at SUFC.

i was told when i was young the bradshaw family owned bagshaw hall in oaks park at norton, as school kids we used to try and fish the small lake in front of the house, the house was quite big and i think at some point in the 70s it was open to the public for a short time before money got tight and some of the art work had to be sold off, i am also told the bagsshaw family owned most of gleadless valley how true this is i dont know could just be an urban myth

I think the Oakes Park family were Bagshawes with an 'e'. A friend of mine from college married into the family and was last heard of living at Wormhill Hall, although this was a good 20 or so years ago.

yes , the Bagshawes at Oakes Park were a kind of Sheffield royalty with the mansion and land they owned . My memories involved being chased off the land for fishing in the many ponds as a kid! - but they also allowed the fair on the land beside the cricket club which was brill !
