Are they getting bigger, or am I getting smaller?

Yeah they have changed.

You also used to be able to rub the skin off quite easily in'tolden days

Now the skins are like superglued on.
This is the farmers answer to changing fashions, its hip to leave skins on, I prefer em without. I know they come off easier when they are cooked, but its just not the same.

Bring back the old jerseys! and tank tops!

Yeah, they taste horrible with the skins on.

Aren't potatoes poisonous uncooked?

Raw potatoes are good for you, provided you peel them first.

Don't eat any green parts, that's the toxic solanine. Visit this site for info:

Jersey Royals are so disappointing now, they used to be something to look forward to in the late spring (sad I know). But now they just don't have the same taste.

I think a fair number aren't from Jersey anymore - or theyre grown in a different area of Jersey with a different soil type - certainly the taste has been a lot "earthier" than I remember.
