Hello all, I live the Isle of Man where we have a marvellous music scene and I am in several bands. But I am now in a long term relationship with a sheffield gal and I am considering moving to your neck of the woods to be with her.

I just wondered what the local music scene was like and how easy it would be to get involved in a band over there and get a band started there.

If anyone has any information or any links to websites dedicated to the local music scene where I can get in touch with other musicians and **** about getting a band together.

Cheers:thumbsup:

Check some of these out.... all have myspace sites - do a search on the names below... www.myspace.com

Nuggie and the Lawbreakers
The Irritants (currently looking for a bassist)
Zombie Nights
Not The Musaq
BabyPinkStar

May be worth you getting intouch with a few local venues, such as

The Boardwalk (there are a number of live acts on tonight if you are in the area - doors 7.30pm)

Hope this helps.

You'll find a bunch of nice sheffield music types at www.L2SB.co.uk and another bunch of nice sheffield music types at www.soundaloud.com (soundaloud is a bit more rock/metal)

It's dead easy to put a band together round here as long as you can cope with having a drummer who plays in 97 other bands.

Good god so it's it's not just here in the IOM where drummers are hard to come by. I personally am in three bands but that's just cos I'm greedy and the drummer in one of them is in god knows how many bands.

 makes me wonder if you go on the site! its indie biased... 80% indie 20% rock id say..but i suppose its sign of the times.
