Thanks large_potato 08-05-2006, 17:30 also anybody can recommend some nice camping place around sheffield? Randy Savage 08-05-2006, 17:40 It's probably easier to buy one... they're not that expensive - try Decathalon or somewhere like that... As for camping places... no idea... officegirl 08-05-2006, 17:43 edale, hathersage, buxton, castleton, there your best bet but search google for some more info or get a camping book the AA guide is good zanzi 08-05-2006, 20:12 Try CCC. Their tents are the cheapest I've found and probably just as cheap as renting. Not sure about campsites. Try the National Parks website. large_potato 09-05-2006, 09:21 I've got my own tent from Decathlon for £20 pound only. But the thing is... I'm trying to persuade my friends to come with me, and it's just easier if they don't need to invest too much money at the first time...hiring camping equipment is a better choice for them. Please help:):):) fox20thc 09-05-2006, 09:26 These people apparantly hire equipment http://www.iain.co.uk/fixtures.htm  Might not be useful for you but they may be able to point you in the right direction fnkysknky 09-05-2006, 16:29 Was reading one of those Netto flyers while waiting for a mate the other day and noticed they had a 2 man tent for £10. Cheap enough to throw away at that price. Might get one before we go to Lowlands festival in Netherlands so don't have to think about bringing an expensive tent back :D J739CET 09-05-2006, 16:51 I bought a tent from decathlon at the weekend, £30, its a great tent. I saw the netto ones too, they are 'tunnel' type tents, so cant see much room to move about in them!! Still cheap though! As for places to go, i live near the redmires dams so i go up there every once in a while. Bambi 11-05-2006, 20:05 Theres a few good campsites at Edale. Across from the train station is Fieldsend site £4 per night. Further up the hill is Coopers which is larger and noisier but cheap. Pubs across the road at both. Hathersage have a couple of good sites too. fnkysknky 11-05-2006, 20:27 I was gonna dump it once I'd woke up anyway so not really bothered about not being able to move :) Got a decent tent somewhere but don't fancy carrying it back. large_potato 18-05-2006, 13:02 I saw a 9 people's tent in CCC with three bedrooms and a big lodge. It's not a tent but a house! I was even more amazed by how light and how cheap it was, only 6.2kg and £55! faint.... large_potato 18-05-2006, 13:15 I saw a 9 people's tent in CCC with three bedrooms and a big lodge.
