We are moving to Sheffield from Cardiff and found a decent property in owlthorpe.
The selling price quoted by the vendor is 125K for a 3 bedroom semi detatched property in Owlthorpe. At what price can i put an offer?
Any advice would be helpful coz i'm a first time buyer....
How safe is this area ? (i've heard that some areas in Sheffield are quiet unsafe)
Please advise.

I don't think there are any particular safety concerns with Owlthorpe. Although there are a few areas of Sheffield where crime is quite high, I don't think it's any more dangerous than any other major city. In fact, I'd say, in general terms, Sheffield is probably safer.
As for an offer, the trend in Sheffield does seem to be to advertise properties at a lower price, and then let potential buyers keep bidding to push the price up. Last year most properties were selling for more than the asking price. I am unsure if this is still the case.

Well that's my area and you can be safe in the knowledge that it has one of the lowest crime in Sheffield. Very quiet area, close to the tram network but it's missing a Pub/Shop etc.
£125k for a 3 bed is cheap at Owlthorpe although i do know of one at that price but it's a smaller 3 bed on Wooldale G. If you want any advice feel free to ask or PM me.

Owlthorpe from my experience seems to be a nice quiet estate. £125k seems reasonable given that most properties round that area are relatively new.
