Hi there, wonder if we could ask for some advice. A friend of ours is selling a re conditioned IBM Thinkpad laptop, but the trouble is, we are not very computer literate, and neither is our friend!! I have had a look at the system screen and it says 724MHZ 256MB of Ram , Mobile Intel R, Pentium R, 111CPU-M-1133MHZ. He is looking for around £250 for it, do you think its worth this amount of money??? Thanks for any help :help:

Imho...too exspensive!!
Really depends what you intend to use it for,for an extra £100 you would be able to buy a new laptop.
I personally wouln't buy a second hand laptop.
Personally, I wouldn't buy a "reconditioned laptop" off of someone who isn't computer litterate.
Who reconditioned the laptop?
Assuming the above answer isn't your friend, how much did he pay for it?
How long has he had it?
I'd say it was worth around £100-£150. If I was selling a reconditioned laptop it would come with a fresh install of the relevant version of Windows, fully patched, with Antivirus, Spyware tools and OpenOffice fully installed.
How is yours reconditioned?

You can buy a new laptop from ebuyer, dabs, dell from about £350 with 12 warrenty. If you want to buy one from a store you may find them a bit dearer but a low end laptop should compare well with a used laptop. The high end machines can sometimes get a good price second hand especially on ebay so your friends laptop may sell for that sort of money on there but i would pay the bit more and get the warrenty.Check how much his model has fetched on there for a price comparrison
