So threads of recent days!

WASPS! - obviously killer wasps brand new to the region, intend on stinging anyone in their path KILL THE WASPS

BEES! - I have bees in my garden - thats where they like to bee ;) so what is the response from forum central KILL THE BEES

SQUIRRELS - damaging the gardens of england and moving into your lofts - answer KILL THE SQUIRRELS

Not to mention the foxes, the rats and probably badgers next!

What happened? Do we all hate nature all of a sudden. Spring is here I can't wait for the anti ladybird brigade to join in next!

Another thing, whilst doing the dishes I had the flowerpot phone in on in the background. What did these virtuous tenders of england gardens want to discuss.

Fairly mild stuff compared to a lot of other threads on this forum - lately people appear to have been advocating killing burglars, all petty criminals, "degenrates" etc

My Stepfather seems to have a vendetta against dendelions no matter where they grow. Out in the middle of the countryside he'll be kicking the heads off them.

Funniest is when mushrooms appear on the lawn and he goes around kicking them all over the place - at the same time distributing all those lovely spores everywhere so we get even more the next year

And I wouldn't like to see the state he would get into in my garden...

Bees are fundamental to our existence, SAVE THE BEES!!

"If bumblebees were to die out, it would be a tragedy and an environmental disaster. They are major pollinators of wild flowers.

"If the bees disappear, the plants will set fewer seeds and may themselves vanish."

See why (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/1314012.stm)

Also, Albert Einstein said ‘’if the bee became extinct, man would only survive a few years beyond it’’

So for all those who want to fight nature, you may win the battle..............but lose the war!

This is true (though I've known this for what seems like forever).

From wasps?

Bees= plants and pollenation of
Wasps = crops/rainforests by keeping pests away from crops and pollenating some trees by laying eggs in their flowers, thus disturbing the seeds. Not all trees can reproduce without help from something such as a wasp.
a lot of our medicine come from the rainforest.

"The following is a list of drugs that the plants have provided a basis for : the contraceptive pill, antibiotics, tranquillisers, dental cement, heart and ulcer drugs. In fact one in four products from the chemist contain chemical compounds derived from rainforest plants. 70% of anti cancer plants originate from the rainforests and the US National Cancer Institute identified 3,000 plants with properties in fighting cancer."

As long as the wasps stay in the rainforest I dont mind!

(but if they invade my space I have no choice but to defend myself)

I don't think we have any rainforests in the UK though:D.

Kill the damned things:D (wasps, that is, not the rain forests).
