I heard recently that this pub was raided by the police because of underage drinking. Has anyone else heard of this?
Also, has anyone heard if the landlord will loose his licence over it?

On the occasions I've been in there were some young people who I would have asked for ID before serving. IMO they looked underage.

Yes, Rose & Crown is a nice pub.

Nope, but if you want a pub full of chavs, try the Sportsman... Well at least it used to be like that until it changed hands about 18 months back due to the original tenants splitting up.

I frequent the Crown and Glove in Stannington mostly nowadays, usually on a Wednesday night about half 9 for the quiz.

Rich the Sportsman really isn't half as bad as it used to be.

It still has chavs though which is why I've stopped going. It's a shame that it's gone down the pan because as a pub it does have loads of potential. It needs a couple who wont take any crap from the chavs and who have the money to invest.

As for the Hare and Hounds that place is like a youth club for under 15's. If he has been raided I'm not suprised, It has been waiting to happen for a long time now.
