Hey all you out there in Shef, I am an Indian student coming to Shef for my MSc program commencing in Sept 2006, along with 2 or 3 friends of mine. We all have been admitted to the University of Sheffield. I wanted to know the prevailing rates of accomodation in Shef in private housing as we friends felt that university accomodation is pretty costly. It would be very kind if someone extends help. I'm not sure about prices but you could try looking on here - http://www.artfullodger.co.uk/content.php?categoryId=773 ...which might help. Otherwise you could try searching estate agents such as Blundells or Halifax.

If you want somewhere within walking distance of uni you need to look at Broomhill, Broomhall, Crookes and Ecclesall Road areas of Sheffield. I'm a student at the uni (but I live miles away and travel in by car) and these are the places that most students tend to live.
