This pub appears to be boarded up. There is a notice on the front door, but I couldn't see it from the bus.

Anyone know anything about this?

There was a braul after the SUFC - Stoke game a few weeks back which resulted in the pub being smashed up, windows, tables, chairs etc... i can only assume that this was the final straw for the management who decided to sell up rather than pay out for the repairs.

I heard (from a very good source, but I'd treat this as hearsay nonetheless) that the landlord is in hospital after being beaten up in that fight. There were football thugs involved, but the dispute also involved drugs somewhere along the line, it wasn't just a regular hooly thing.

The pub will be reopening, but with a new landlord who is being chosen by the police, who are determined to clamp down on the nasty element who were in there. That's what I was told anyway!
