Watch out for Little Man Tate folks - they are set to be huge and this is no throwaway statement.
They have energy, fun and Sheffield lyrics in their music and live I don't think you will honestly find a band that has so much fun on stage !
Keep an eye out for them - and support them where you can.
I notice this months "Q" has got the single "What? What You Got?" as one of the tracks of the month.

Heard loads about them via my drummer mate. I ain't been out on the live circuit in Sheff for ages (new house and baby the cause).
He loves em and although he loves Arctic Monkeys he reckons this lot are even better.
Good times for Sheffield music all round I reckon.

The Sheffield scene is brilliant at present - some amazing bands
Ones I would recommend are:
Arctic Monkeys (need to work on their stage presence though)
Little Man Tate (the ultimate live band !)
Milburn
The Harrisons
Bhuna
Bochum Parkway
In fact - just get out there - get a babysitter and get to the gigs - it's never ever been as good as this !
My mate went to watch them at the plug last week and said they were brilliant live!
Just been checking them out on the net. Looks promising. Don't know about the tank tops though :)

I Love Little Man Tate
They're so good. Saw them at The Plug and at Fibbers and both gigs were awesome! The atmosphere at both gigs was great.

Arctic Monkeys (3 good songs)
Little Man Tate (arctic monkeys 2)
Milburn (dull)
The Harrisons (duller)
Bhuna (songs sounded better on myspace then live)
Bochum Parkway (more interesting then all the above)
no one seems to mention THE TIVOLI, but they have pre-sold shedloads of tickets to their next friday gig at The Boardwalk and are looking like selling it out...with NO plugging, NO real advertising....just through word of mouth, great songs and even better performances.

My College tutor is the brother of Dan Fields the drummer. Tom (my tutor), bless the guy, has done a great job of pushing the bands name in our classes and keeping us up to date as to whats happening with them etc. He informed me that Little Man Tate charted in the UK singles chart this week and joked that with enough purchases from us students the band could knock Gnarles Barkley from the top spot :D lol

That lot are ok, the best band in Sheffield by some distance though are Monkey Swallows the Universe (http://www.myspace.com/mstu) their album is brilliant packed with beautiful, inventive songs and they are already coming out with new material of as high a quality. They’re one of the bands currently making a name for themselves that definitely have the quality to outlast the current Sheffield bubble when it bursts & the media backlash kicks in.
