Does anyone have the same weird experiences regarding holidays as me?

When I 'm relaxing in Spain with a cold beer, I try to imagine work and can't believe it actually exists.

Then when the holiday is over and I'm back at work, it's like the holiday never happened and the place I went to is just in the mind.

Do I need a doctor, or does anyone else have the same thoughts?

yes i do!

the worst bit is when the holiday feels like its going really fast! and the last day you go home feels like the day after you got there. but when you get home work feels really slow and boring!!!

to be truthfull in that sense holidays are annoying!

When I'm on holiday I can't get over the fact that my house is so far away. It seems as if my whole life has never existed and I never lived it.
I also get I strong urge to quit college and work and just travel like a nomad ...
Forever Travelling .........

Doh! Great I feel all drifty and spiritual now!! ;)

Don't you just love it the minute the aeroplane doors open and that warm foreign air hits you! thats when you know you're going to have a great holiday.
Also the funniest part is when you're on your way home and you reach England. The pilot tells you it's 8 degrees and raining i always look around the plane and see all those people still wearing bermuda shorts and thin t-shirts frowning!

When I'm on hols I'm always reading travel books on other parts of the world. Lately it's been Paul Theroux's books.
Wherever I am, I want to be somewhere else !!!!!

I have to take plenty of photographs to convince me that I actually went.

It's like the holiday was all a dream when you get back into the old routine.

I know exactly what you mean Sam, Im the same - the build up and the travel etc to the holiday are really exciting, when you get there it's like you've entered into another body, a dream-like state. Laying on the beach in the warm sun and listening to the lapping of the blue water hypnotises you into thinking how fantastic life is!
But, as you say, back home and a couple of weeks into the old routine it's like you never went anywhere. I've experienced this too and it's pretty strange, i have to dig out photo's and think back hard, remembering details to actually believe it happened!
