View Full Version : Middlewood Winners.. questionable posting!?
fox20thc 02-05-2006, 10:24 Just checked my guestbook (http://www.middlewoodwinners.ik.com) and someone has posted the following:
this is all well and good but i would like to see someone independent look into the running of this .
No contact information or explanation as to why they posted their comment.
Enlighten me friends, am I missing something. We are regulated by the charities commission, we have an elected board of directors who are chosen at an open meeting every year, all ofsted reports are online and accessible as are our accounts filed at companies house. Anyone can visit any time, can we be anymore transparent?
Do you think this person has a problem?
fox20thc 02-05-2006, 10:32 I do have an IP address though :)
koenigsinger 02-05-2006, 10:39 Sadly fox, there will always be the odd one who has to have a go, ignore this idiot, and carry on doing the great things you've been doing so far :D
fox20thc 02-05-2006, 10:45 Thanks Sharp :)
I have left the comment on the guestbook and posted the following:
Thank you for taking the time to look at the website Paul.
Your comment doesn't explain why you feel would like to see someone independent look into the running of this.
If you would care to expand via the contact us button you may do so and anonymously if you wish to. Any concerns you have regarding the running of the charity are a worry and we would like to address them. I will leave this post on here for one week and hope you will take the opportunity to expand on your posting.
Kind regards, Webmaster
If this person is trying to wind us up they will check back to see if I deleted it. Not sure if I should delete it or not, what do you think?
shoeshine 02-05-2006, 10:46 That's an awful thing to do to you and your organisation, fox.
Well done on getting the IP address....let's hope the individual can be identified..........
ps just looked on your first link as you were posting the details of your response on SF. I would suggest you leave their comment on for now. Or perhaps the Mods on SF can advise you what to do............

Wouldn't have a clue what to do with it. I just thought it wise to make a note
You're doing everything right there, fox.
www.dnsstuff.com is a tool I use for tracing details of IP addresses.
Good Luck.

fox20thc 02-05-2006, 11:56 So do I delete the offending post or not? What do you think..
RazorSHarp 02-05-2006, 12:08 Leave it on there. Shows your not hiding anything. Could be from a resident or local that thinks your miss using funds or property gifted.
Keep up the good work

:o I never thought of that!

I'd leave the message there fox, and your reply setting out the same details as you've shared with us. A number of perfectly ordinary people will wonder if local charities are run 100% honestly etc. (I do, ahem, being a naturally curious person...)
Your response will reassure those people who wouldn't dream of being so crass as to openly question you. IMO your response will give your organisation a lot of credibility - and it's a reasonable question, after all. :)
Edit: it wasn't a reasonable question (now I've read what they put again, doh) but it does express sentiments (albeit rather grumpily) that others may have also thought. Go fer it! You (clearly) have absolutely nothing to hide.

Thanks SHsheff, I think I will leave both the post and my response. I have a sneaking feeling I may know who did it now I have had time to stew  and just for the record incase anyone reading this thread isn't fully understanding of what we do. It is totally legitimate and accountable so please don't be concerned. :)

fox20thc 02-05-2006, 18:08 Well thank you to all my lovely forum friends, the rubbish comment has dropped down the list considerably. Wonder what Paul will have to say when he checks back to see if I deleted it?
