I want to print out a load of emails in Outlook Express and I'm having 2 problems.
1. when I select all of the emails I want to print out I can only print the first one. Does that mean I have to print out each email separately or is there a way to do a bulk print out and if so how?
2. there is a problem printing all of the email because the text is too close to the left hand margin and therefore the first part of the first words are not printing out so I'd like to know how I can go about correcting this as well.
Alternatively can I bulk forward all of these emails in which case how? I'd also like to know how I can save my emails to CD for another computer user in another location to access them.
Many thanks
Wendy
I've had a look, and tried to find a way of printing all e-mails in OE, but I can't see any way of doing it.
Do you want to print them, because you want to save them, before deleting them? If so, you could either open a new folder in OE and move the chosen e-mails there, or you could open a new folder in My Documents or on a CD, and drag and drop the chosen e-mails to that folder.
If you want to open those e-mails on another pc, that pc will probably have to have OE installed, although you may be able to import them on to Outlook.
As for the margin problem, you may have to alter the print preferences on your printer.
To bulk forward, select the e-mails you want to forward, using the Ctrl key or the shift key, and then click Forward in the menu bar or in the Message menu; that will open a new e-mail, which will have the selected e-mails as attachments.
I want to print them out so that I can provide a hard copy for someone who has asked to see all of my correspondence on a particular matter and although I have forwarded some 30 odd individually which has been extremely tedious as is printing them out.
I've also tried altering the printer preferences which hasnt changed the line length :(
Are you forwarding by e-mail?
As I said above, highlight all the e-mails you wish to forward, and then click Forward in the Menu bar or the Message drop-down menu, which opens a new e-mail with the e-mails to be forwarded as attachments.
Yes - how many can I forward at a time; there are far more than I'd realised
Just discovered that they've also got Outlook Express so I'm going to do the planet a favour, save them all to CD, save paper and my time :) Hope that's going to be as easy as it sounds.
Ann are you sure it's possible to drag and drop bulk selected emails from Outlook Express and then burn them on to a CD because I seem to be having problems. Why isnt anything simple when it comes to dealing with computers? :(
That is the simplest method.
Open a new folder on the CD, to put the e-mails into, then highlight all the e-mails you want to save on to the CD, and then just drag and drop.
EDIT: If you have a lot of e-mails to drag and drop to the CD, be patient. It may look as though nothing is happening for a while, but all of a sudden you will see that the folder will start filling up.
I did but it doesnt like it :( Thanks Ann; Patience is s a virtue I could do with developing :)
Open a new folder in My Documents, drag and drop all the e-mails to that folder, and then move the whole folder to the CD.:D
How do I create a new folder on the CD? Cant I just drag and drop without a folder?
Certainly helps to know what you're doing. It's going at a cracking pace. That's saved hours and hours and hours of the precious little time I've got today. Hopefully I may even get out while it's still sunny. :D Mega thanks and ever so gratefully. Wendy
