He probably just wants to see what it's like before committing £40 to something he might not use.

you cant use the xbox live trial code on the 360
No you have to buy either a 3 or 12 month Xbox Live Gold pack (£34.99 on Play.com or £39.99 in shops), I ordered one yesterday from Play.com, but then I read on a site that Live will be down some time this week! What the hell?!

found a programme called xbconnect lets you play for free via your pc but all the people seem to be playing HALO and nothing else.
Do what I did and buy this (http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox/4-/169478/XBox_Live_Starter_Kit_+_Project_Gotham_Racing_2/Product.html) PGR 2 Xbox live starter kit, (works with 360) Bargain at £24.99 :D
i bought the 3 month membership just to try it,and i dont regret spending the £15.G.R.A.W is mint.
just a quick question though,im connecting to xbx live using my pc then my aol broadband, and i just wondered if i can connect any other way.without using my pc or aol.and how much to do it.
thanks.

That's cos everyone loves Halo and think it's the best thing ever, personally I think it's VASTLY over-rated.
Ive never been a fan of Halo
