Is it gonna kick off?
of course it is

don't be fooled by the build up and recent good behaviour of england fans - as if they're going to cause trouble so close to Euro 2004

We all know how england fans are targeted by other countries and provoked into retaliation - englands hooligans rarely need an excuse as it is

50,000 england fans expected in portugal!

This is not about football, it is just an excuse for violence and bad behavior, if they can't go to football matches to use it, they will pick on some poor soul in the street and kick their head in, I would re-introduce the cat - a - nine - tails and whip the bloody hide off these ********. FULL STOP.

or the portugese police should send them to Iraq dressed as hamless iraqi citizens. Im sure the American way of justice would teach them not to fool around.

England hooligans abroad are less discriminate - here they go toe to toe with other lads up for it - abroad they'll smash towns and cities up and be less bothered about who they kick off with

Trouble is that the 99% of the fans who are not wearing burbury caps and don't want trouble get caught up in it. Whilst I'm not opposed to hooligans getting their heads cracked, I just think the police need to make sure they get the right people and don't go in swinging at anyone in an England shirt.

I think a lot of work has been done to prevent hooligans from travelling and there is a reasonable chance that the event will pass without much trouble. How's that for a ballsy prediction?

i read that the Portuguese police will let fans smoke spliffs over there on the premise that ;

'If people are smoking but not kicking each other, and not making a problem, why on earth would an officer go and ask 'Is that cannabis?'

i thought that was funny way of putting things :D

i recently read in a magazine that a chelsea football hooligan in court on a gbh charge was represented by a soliciter who was a member of the chh. the case was thrown out of court because the prosecution wasnt allowed 2 use video evidance. my point is when you have this hooligan element in the judicial system you no theres no way of wiping it owt, its just 2 widespread.

Personally i think hooligans do far more harm to this country than any flag burners. I really wish we could deport them and revoke their English identity. They obviously hate the country as all they do is destroy the reputation of it's people. Makes me mad!

i used to live in germany and they were pleasantly surprised that we could drink with them without wanting to beat them up!!

that really is the impression that some of them have of us! doesn't just stop at football hooligans but the english abroad on holiday are renowned for the fact that 'we' get hammered and just want to cause trouble
i steer WELL clear of any resorts that are full of tanked up english F****** idiots

as do I. the idea of travelling miles just to end up surrounded by a load of English Pi*s heads, just doesn't appeal.

Alot of the violence which takes place is often arranged. and the more established "firms" tend not to involve people who are not after a fight.

Of course there are cases of mindless assaults on innocent people not wanting to fight but i believe this to be a minority in comparison to the people who fight because they want to fight and consenting adudlts.

I am saying this is right and of course any violence abroad is not doing us any good, but as they say "it takes two to tango".

The weed smoking on the stand seems a good idea. In my home town there were al lot of smokers in the various parks gathering on a regular basis , however they were given no hassle. The only people who could be arsed to cause trouble were the drunken fools quibbling over the price of a hotdog.

Control the alcohol

ive travelled abroad alot and the way english people espcially the 18 to 30 are seen is the union jack shorts, big gut, sunburnt and full of ale.having met 1 or 2 footie hooligans and spoke 2 them they see what they do as a way of life and quite normal, granted they were pretty brain dead. lets hope the footie goes well and hopefully the idiots will behave.

they're not all brain dead though - some have pretty good jobs and are quite affluent

i totally agree, i no 2 wed lads who work in a well known solicitors in sheff who attend england games and organise trips 2 various games abroad . they are well known in the nf and have quite a reputation for violence.
