Are there too many soaps on TV. By this I mean the amount of air time given to soaps (and popular drama generally) rather than specific titles.

Don't spend enough time watching TV for it to be a problem.

I'm not sure there is too many but I think they are on too often. It must be what the majority want though.

As long as there's soap babes I don't care how many soaps there is... Call me a nutter if you like but I doubt I'd kick Kat Slater out if only she was a couple of years younger.....

And some of you already know that I fancy half the female residents of Ramsay St on Neighbours, it's just that Izzy Hoyland is too much of a cowbag to be fanciable despite her *ahem* obvious other attractions.

Yep I agree about Izzy. Michelle's still my favourite though.

I don't think there's too many, especially now I've got into Eastenders. I wouldn't want any more though.

I noticed today in the Sun TV guide, that Doctors is classed as a soap. I would have thought it would be classed as more of a drama.

Michelle, yeah she's nice now that she's grown up... Definitely another babe in the Scully family... They're definitely one of the most attractive families to have been in Neighbours for a few years, little Oscar's lovely bless im, Steph and Flick, PHWOOOOAR... Even Lyn's not bad, and now there's Michelle, or Misha as Irish calls her

Best looking family of lasses since the Alessi twins back in the late 80s.

I dunno, never really been a fan of Steph or Flick. Agree about Lyn though...

yes definately too much air time, they seem to run out of story lines, then when they do have one they drag it on for so long it becomes boring

Dpes anyone else agree that Home and Away's gone crap since it moved to Channel 5?!

It's lost half its totty as well, no Isla Fisher, Kristy Wright or Dannii Minogue  Even Sally was a bit nice when she grew up.

Yeah I know, I'm a perv.. :P

There's certainly more air time dedicated to soaps. There was a time EastEnders and Corrie was only on twice a week.

I can name more soaps that have ended than new ones which have started - Eldorado, Albion Market, Crossroads etc.

It's not so much that there are a lot of new soaps, but rather that the exising ones are on many more times per week than before.
