Using a sygate firewall I occasionally get the following message:-

WMI (wmiprvse.exe) is trying to broadcast to 224.0.0.22. Do you want thhis programme to access the network?

I always click NO with no apparent loss - but what's it all about please?

This Link (http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/wmiprvse.exe.html) says it's part of Windows (Windows® Management Instrumentation - apparently):D.

Google it - there's quite a bit of stuff there.

The IP address belongs to IANA, so I wouldn't worry too much.
