View Full Version : The pink peril bus
Did anybody see the pink bus in today's news used by Isle of Wight Council to transport yobbos to and from school.
It is the oldest, most uncomfortable bus they have and it is reserved for kids who rip seats out of the regular school buses and abuse drivers. They have to suffer the humiliation of travelling around in the pink peril. Apparently it is working and antisocial behaviour is down. For every act of vandalism or abuse the journey home is lengthened by 5mins. Seems like a top idea to me. It also has the backing of parents but of course the free thinking liberal brigade are on their high horses. It humiliates the poor kids etc etc.
Well I say tough. What about the costs to the ratepayer of putting right all the damage they do? What about the decent kids who are often caught in the crossfire?
Bring it up here I say :D
Some people take our 'rights' too far. It's a similar situation with ID cards - as far as I'm concerned anyone who doesn't want one has something to hide! If kids expect to be treated with respect then they should treat others with respect - or face the consequences if they don't. And being forced to ride on the pink peril is a far milder punishment than would have been doled out a few decades ago...

Prefably with the yobs in it.

Here we go again. Someone innocently asked a question on a radio show about humiliating the kids and it's immediately blown up by the Daily Mail brigade as an attack by the loony left. I have seen this story reported in print, TV and Annanova and there was no reference to humiliation.
Great idea this pink bus but how soon before it's regarded as macho to be seen on it? It might become like the 'old days' when notches on your belt indicating the number of canings were considered something to be proud of. (My belt fell to pieces which is why I'm against corporal punishment, it costs a fortune)

When I was little and precocious I used big words and confused them quite a lot; so for ages whenever people discussed smacking children I would inform them quite solemnly that my school practised capital punishment...

I have noticed (much to my disdain) that what may be classed as punishment, is actually more of a treat to the yobs. This pink bus, is saying "Look at me - aren't I bad?!" which is exactly what message these youths are trying to make everyone think. They're getting tons of attention being on that bus, so maybe being in the limelight is making them worse? It's almost as though they're attention seeking, and we shouldn't be playing along with it.
I don't think the bus will work, its a good idea, but it'll just turn into the next cool place to be seen. While I'm on the subject, I also want to voice my opinion of exclusion in schools. Personally, I have never been excluded, but with many of the people that have, it's been noticed that the exclusion is more of a treat! It's time off in school time! How ridiculous!?! Obviously, the idea is that the student isn't disrupting other's education, but still if I was that kind of person, and didn't value my education, I'd play up even more in order to get a week off etc.
What do you all think to exclusions?

The issue of exclusions is twofold - punishment for the child and, more importantly, removing them from the school so the other childrens' education is not impaired. Just the latter reason for exclusion makes it worthwhile. Unfortunately, this and the previous government have for years been closing schools that can deal with problem children once they've been excluded, expecting regular schools to deal with them but not providing the extra training and staff required. Therefore, these children just get moved to another regular school to disrupt.
Why dont they stop pussyfooting around and give these big headed arrogant yobos a taste of their own medicine, there is only one thing these thugs understand and that is pain and I would give it to them pronto.
It makes me sick to hear about the do - gooders pontificating on human rights and dont hurt them or it will damage them in later life, I would damage them now.
In the old days, we knew that if we hurt anyone or damaged property we would be punished and rightly so. getting six of the best was a good deterrent and guaranteed good behaviour. Also we grew up knowing that if we were involved in violence culminating in someones death, we could be hung.
Today these ignorant, stupid, blockheads are getting away with murder and laughing, not only at the police but putting two fingers up at the rest of society. In other words they know the law cannot and will not punish them for their crimes, so they win hands down and everyone are their victims with no redress.
