View Full Version : Midlife Crisis
evildrneil 06-05-2004, 17:36 As I'm about to hit 34 I think its about time for the midlife crisis I've been looking forward to for a while now! So far I have recruited SIH as the only girl half my age I know to chase after (anyone else want to volunteer too - maximum age is 17 to limbo under the half age criteria). The other posibilities are a red sports car and/or motorbike - any other things that are traditional for a midlife crisis so I can do it properly?

Go any lower and you'll be spending your mid-life crisis in the nick.:D
DaBouncer 06-05-2004, 17:43 LMAO... I was just about to post that mo
evildrneil 06-05-2004, 17:47 That depends on whether I catch them or not - and given my advanced age and decrepitude I don't stand a chance without a turbo zimmer frame!!!
i thought mid-life crisis was 40-ish??!

Of course it is!
Sounds like a poor excuse for chasing young girls to me... maybe I should have a mid-life crisis too! :D

Dye your hair or get a wig if necessary.
Get a fake tan and medallion.
Get a psuedo biker leather jacket.
Oh yes, and you'll need to start on a course of prozac and counselling.

I do believe he has the jacket :D .
Get your self a woman of your own age, so will soon make you realise what a mid life crisis is that you will forget yours.
Or actually get a younger one she will help reach your much quicker with hers crisises about shoes, suntan and looking perfect ;) ;)
well for me it will be a motorbike, a mohican haircut and mini-skirt!
and westlife concert attendance!
Mosherchik 07-05-2004, 10:59 Dont forget the Just For Men... only takes five minutes you know :P then of course there's the hair-weave, mustnt forget the need to dress like youre "down with the kids"... ie put on some combats and an unecessarily tight t-shirt.
Ps dont forget the bling! big chunky "gold" bracelets are in for the MLC man

You know you can JFM for beards, moustaches and sideburns!!! :D nothing quite so bad as having luxourious youthful brown hair and then spoiling it with a Santa Claus beard!!
Personally I quite like the salt n pepper look, bit of grey around the temples makes men look quite distinguished
distinguished...? men...? surely not!
:P :D :P
My mans has always had silver white hair all the 10 years i've known him, although his beard is now catching up rapidly. (I am not telling you any more, before you ask). Please don't try and suggest he change it. I like it.

Luckilly I dont need the JFM - I'm not afflicted with grey hair - it all falls out before it goes grey!

I can manage all but the westlife concert attendance!
ZEDEX48K 07-05-2004, 13:42 is there a point when u are tired of the bar/club culture but you still want to go out and have a good time (i.e opposite sex shananigans :) ). Where do people go who feel this and do this!?
Any suggestions please
slimsid2000 07-05-2004, 14:12 I'm nearly 34 too and haven't had my first girlfriend yet. Now that is a crisis! I also don't see myself as anything approaching middleage.
i'm only 26 and i already find myself going to clubs far less than i used too.
I still enjoy pubs though, but have taken a liking to the corner house, it tends to be less busy, quieter and always has seating free. (you pay for the privilege though).

yup i'd agree with that!
Mosherchik 07-05-2004, 17:56 I dunno, Ive had many mid-life crises and Im only 21 :D think Im just in a general state of crisis permantly maybe I'll get Mid-Life Relief
...ah that would be nice, a nice comfy armchair and a big mug of Horlicks... possibly a few flapjack
I don't think they can qualify as mid life if you are only 21. Just general crises.
I've got the red sports car if you want to buy it!

yeah I know! I did actually say that... In a general state of turmoil
Dye my hair quite a lot too... think Im getting it out of my system so I wont be tempted to do the bubble perm and blue rinse when Im older :D

Well my friend is almost 25 and has never had a boyfriend - I could set you up?
Surely in order to have a true mid-life crisis you need to seduce you're secretary, blow all you're cash on something you neither need or really want, devlop a drink/drug habit and become a figure of fun to all who know you. Or perhaps i've just been watching too much neighbours! :loopy:

SS2k, I don't think you ever answered some of the questions posted on the thread you started about having no girlfriend. Care to ressurect it and have a bash at answering them (i'm genuinley interested).

Such as what? I'm not quite sure which questions you mean.
Two points
1. Why is it that 30something year old men want to go chasing after young girls..what happens to the women your age who are single.
2. Why don't all we thirtysomethings meet up and have a no pressure, meet people your own age, drink or two. Thats all. Cut out the middle man
Oh better yet, next forum night have a thirtysomethings night and we all go out in full force?
Better than idle chat with small girls n'est ce pas?

Its in the rules - along with the stringy blonde mullet, chest wig, medallion and red sports car!
Nuff said
:-)
In lieu of them taking your money, wasting your time. Or you might find the one 17yr old out there who can sustain your interest longer than a night, what are you going to do after?
In any event its good to have a contingency plan. Thirtysomething forum night it is
evildrneil 12-05-2004, 14:29 17???? they have to be under half your age so I'm aiming for 16 year olds!
Slightly more seriously though we did try a 30-something night a while ago and got a whole four people at it!
Yeah ... but it was a good night neil !!
We've had the 18-30 meet ... the 30 somethings meet ... so when will be having the 'hot chicks 20-30 & guys called Jamie' meet !?
this was the thread I meant
http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7430
I'll just copy and paste the questions I meant.
These are just extracted so might make more sense in the context of the original thread
When you have gone to town, which bars have you tried.
have u thought about the uni clubs suggestion?
mimicraze 12-05-2004, 14:43 hahahahaha looks like the 18-30s meet is gonna be a big one. i mite come tonite, feelin a bit better. i am too young but have been cordially invited by neil ;) i am older than what hes lookin for so im safe haha.

mimicraze 12-05-2004, 15:06 yeh trippets wine bar, 8pm i think ill be there n neil n jamie will be

Sam Miguel 12-05-2004, 15:12 Eventually a forum meet might be announced which I can comfortably turn up for.

Come on we want more choice than just you Jamie even though we have never met.
slimsid2000 12-05-2004, 16:16 I don't really think I am having a mid life crisis as I'm still only 33 and haven't had my first girlsfriend yet.
How can you have a midlife crisis before your first girlfriend? If people did most men would have them at about 14.

Ah ha !! ... well miss fireondaroof !! ... how do you know you want more choice then ... like you say ... we haven't even met yet ......
So is a midlife crisis all about finding a new partner then???
Cos it seem like it now.
I guess it could be for some people fuzzy ...
no, that's one option, others include a ferrari.

True! Well there's time yet and we go to the same gym - we've probably seen each other before and don't know it.
As for the Midlife crisis, I think that it is mainly to do with not wanting to get old and acting and dressing like your still young, a typical example would be Mr C in Hollyoakes who sadly is no more. :(
mimicraze 13-05-2004, 12:30 Is this not someone that complained about my boobies avatar in this thread
