I'm arranging a meet up with some old uni friends in a ouple of weeks time, and am trying to think of somewhere to go. Basically, we want:

somewhere with atmosphere on a saturday night (but not so noisy we can't speak to each other)

Somewhere we can dress up a bit without feeling silly

somewhere where we can have a really nice meal

ideally somewhere where we can maybe have a little dance afterwards

Location isn't too important.

Any suggestions?

The Runaway Girl (http://www.runaway-girl.com/), although I've not been myself, I hear will tick most of those boxes...

boho :)

It fulfils all the criteria you mention, with the exception of the dance! If you want any further information give us a call :)

We had a fantastic night last night, the atmosphere was spot on! We had a full restaurant and a busy bar, and everybody went home more than happy!

Thanks for both of these suggestions. Hook, whereabouts is Boho?

Just behind the Cathedral in the city center :) Very close to the Wig & Pen if you know where that is :)

I went to the Runaway Girl last week, loved it. Very stylish, very "New york", very swish. Service was great, they bring drinks to your table (when you're not eating). The menu looked good too, but haven't eaten there yet. Nice vibe, not intimidating or too pretentious. Thanks for the link Fozzybronze, have just registered! Also, looked in at Boho last night on the way somewhere else, but we made a note to go in as looked gorgeous (but maybe not as much as Runaway Girl...)

would get my vote too. ive been a few times, food and just drinking- lovely venue, great staff, lovely food, and the toilets are just beautiful.

i know the last bit sounds daft, but its so refreshing to go to a bar where theres always loo roll and the toilets are clean!
