Jus lookin at that.. And all 4 are pretty good its worth going in there and jus asking them what deal they do..
DaBouncer 23-04-2006, 15:22 Having used Greens, Esporta and now Virgin I can say hands down that Virgin offers the best value for money AND is the most equiped of all of them.
Virgin would always get my vote
VIRGIN ! but thats enough about me.
Its got everything you need. Staff are helpfull, Its got Bomber Graham, equiptment is maintained well, pool, sauna, steam room, climbing wall, internet, good cafe. I should be on commission . . .
Hello,
I used to be a member of Virgin active and it was brillant. You never have to wait for anything and most of the machines have their own tv screens rather than a centre one which is hard to see.
The pool and spa area is lovely! Very relaxing with dimmed lights.
I looked around before joining and the private gyms fitness first/esporta, greens are all about the same price. But thumbs up to Virgin active. Plus they have free internet! And so many exercise classes.
I stopped cos i moved out of the area!
SWFC_GIRL 23-04-2006, 16:11 how much do you all pay?
Mines gone up to £47 a month. A bit expensive but if you go regularly its worth it, they have some deal that is cheaper if you sign up for a year.
ianjones 23-04-2006, 16:55 I go to Greens - I pay £28 per month for an offpeak membership (9-5)
shells2909 23-04-2006, 20:04 Fitness first at hillsbro is really good, new machines etc arrived not so long ago, plenty of equipment, staff are really helpful and friendly. Place is clean and tidy. Loads of different classes too, plenty to choose from. I joined over a year ago and had to sign up for a year but didnt have to pay any joining fee, i pay £28 a month and can go anytime day or nite, for an extra £5 or so i can used both hillsbro and millhouses but ive never been to that one. I'd recommend it to anyone

Go for Virgin, I pay £40.50 a month, joined up recently after leaving last year, it isn't perfect in every way, but I used to belong to Esporta, where the gym is rubbish in comparison, and they now charge £56.00 a month. Greens is ok but there isn't much atmosphere and its all a little bit dull.
plus you can box with Bomber Graham at virgin.
Why not save cash and walk, buy some dumbells ect.
The best thing to do is go around each one for a look and ask to speak to someone who can show you around (usually sales & memberships). After they have taken you around ask if they do do free trial periods! (i work at one of these types of places and they all do free trial memberships or taster sessions) take your free trials at each one and decide that way, no harm no foul! and you won't have to sign a contract tying you in for a period of time either BONUS!
