What do you think?
Was it anything other than a place on the Humber estuary that sold candyfloss and had out-of-date amusemant arcades that have never been updated.
Hmm...
i've only been to Cleethorpes once and i seem to remember the tide being out and the sea(?) being like 10 miles away.
:loopy: on a nice day its ok for kids
I remember seeing someone jet skiing a long way out. I saw them fall of the jet ski and to my amazement they stood up and the water only came up to their chest. There used to be some old abandoned ships in the distance which you could get close to when the tide was out.
As I've said before I have never really liked the place.

It's a strange place. But as a kid I always renmber the one plus point; the railway station was almost on the beach.
But the best thing about that was, you knew there was always a quick way out of the place.
Oiy you lot, i come from round there.

But you didn't hang around!
haven't been since I was a kid.
But my abiding memories of Cleethorpes are:-
smelly public toilets
fog and rain
soggy chips
........and having to get back on the old KHCT double decker after the "mystery tour" from Hull took us to Cleethorpes for the fifth time in a row =/
that said, it's possibly better than Mablethorpe xD

Yes the station is right on the main street but the train journey from Sheffield is a slow and painful one. :(
