Depends really on the person, no point in taking her / him to the cimena if they don't like films is there!
Or a bar is she / he does not like bars!
Evening date? Lunch date??
Jeeeees..

On the limited info supplied I would suggest somewhere in town for food! Takapuna is good, sell tapas, nice atmosphere, bit bust at weekends though.
Ba Nan??? Thai place in Broomhill

Kentucky Fired Hedgehog if your tight!!

Defo not the cinema on a first date. This is when you want to get to know a person so sitting in silence watching a film isn't going to get you very far. Meals are always good as you can chat for ages, but sometimes, some girls are paranoid about how they look when they eat and so can only get down to serious scoffing when they know you a bit better. I had a first date in PizzaExpress once and that was nice coz they sat us next to the pianist and he was taking requests so we kind of made the most of that and had a laugh. The best first date I EVER had was a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. We had so much fun. You don't have to speak ALL the time coz some times it is more appropriate to scream! A definite place to fall in love if you ask me. Yeah, take her to a fun fair and you will get to see her in her natural state, all ruffled and smiley. A def winner ! (I'd skip a meal before you hit the waltzer though !)

Or you could take her to see something at the theatre. Just show you have interest in everything and enthusiasm for everything and you will win her heart. Laugh a lot too....but don't tell crap jokes. Girls like to laugh a lot but don't like hearing lots of jokes. Better stick to funny stories !

I go to Ice Sheffield now and again to do some skating. Skating would be a good first date. (They do rent skates there if you don't have your own).

It does get a little bit busy sometimes, I'd recommend going out there early evening maybe 19:00, then back into town for a coffee afterwards!
