If house prices remained constant in every area of Sheffield, i.e you could live in whichever area you want at no extra cost, where would you pick and why? :)

Is Carsick  part of Ranmoor, Fulwood or Sandygate and which of the three would you say is the nicest?

I think I'd move up to Dore/Whirlow/Fulwood or Chatsworth... maybe even Bakewell!

Maybe rich 'PEOPLE' would have been better? It's not their fault they have jobs which pay them lost of money. I'm guessing they must have studied for it!

Also my finacee's family are from that neck of the woods and her Dad is a builder and by no means 'rich'... he does work hard 7 days a week in London to earn his money and comes home for the weekend once a fortnight.

There's a nice double fronted detached house on Crescent Road in Nether Edge that I am hoping will come on the market in about 3 years.

But if I had the choice? Top two floors of the Arts Tower & a roof Garden maybe.

Or the big house out at Stanage Edge

But actually where I am right now, off Empire Road is pretty fantastic if a little run down...

Maybe they are arm and leg surgeons, hence they are able to sell them on the blackmarket and reap the rewards many of us can only sit back and dream of.

I'd live right slap bang where I live now!

I love it here, it's within easy reach of town, it's a lovely area, I have lots of friends round here. In fact, I love this district so much, i have moved/ moved back here three times!

I think Nether Edge is one of the nicest areas in Sheffield. It has some lovely old houses and huge trees, and it's just really friendly and funky and full of interesting people.

Why? I moved up from London 15 years ago and have never looked back! It's a great place to live with all the advantages of a city (OK the shopping's a bit crap I admit, but getting a bit better soon) plus fabulous countryside virtually within sight!

Ranmoor/Broomhill , is near to town, but you can get to Peak District quickly. Also safe area.

Somewhere with a big garden, within walking distance of a tram stop, possibly Riverlin.

I agree - I enjoyed staying my relative's Ranmoor house years ago.

Broomhill is near town, I wouldn't class Ranmoor as near town.

Well I say I live at Stannington, when many of the people in "the village" of Stannington would say I live in Malin Bridge. I defer to H.M. Postal Service who back me up in this matter.

I don't like the idea of coming from Malin Bridge either - its too close to Hillsborough!!

On a boat in the quays (which will happen when we get to the top of the never ending waiting list for moorings)

Got to love Netheredge........worked in Crosspool recently and it seems really nice up there, apart from that nice small holding somewhere pretty

The districts are pretty much side by side, though, nick...

Ranmoor sort of starts just before you hit the Hallam Towers Hotel, just after the traffic lights at the bottom of Manchester Road, and continues down towards endcliffe/ fulwood.

The Yew Tree (and Malin Bridge for that matter) stand in an area that used to be known as 'Loxley Bottom'. I think Malin Bridge came into use to describe the area only after it became a terminus for the old trams.

I can't imagine anywhere nicer in Sheffield than where I live now. But Nether Edge always had an attraction for me as a boy....all those conker trees !! :D And my first girl friend lived in Nether Edge ;)

I wouldnt move from where I am. I say Rivelin as my house is in the valley (fields and the river in front of me) but I think it is actually classed as Stannington.

But cant beat it. 10 minutes and your in town (by car) and 10 minutes and your at ladybower.
