Time to build on the future, Owen and Defoe for me.

i agree, lets move on, if we take shearer there then a youngster will have to miss out on an important part of their experience.

As good as it would be to see the mighty Alan Shearer back in the England team it would never happen.

He's made his mind up to commit himself fully to playing out his career with Newcastle now, and as he said at the time he is committing himself fully to that, and it was time to let the younger players into the squad.

Personally, I think as things are at the moment I'd be playing Rooney and Vassel - although I'm sure Owen will come good once he gets a goal.
