View Full Version : Would you live near to a Fast-Food Shop by choice?
shoeshine 16-04-2006, 10:02 In my village their are two "Chippies" and one Chinese Takeaway. One of the "Chippies" is nearly adjacent to the Chinese Takeaway.
A smallish development of private houses has just been finished on land immediately to the rear of both premises.......:|
Would you buy one of these properties?.......

Heyup, Rachylou..........I certainly would not........unless...........
There, that's got you flummoxed.............:)
no would never live near a takeaway or fast food place - i'd get fat!
I wouldn't want to live next door to one because of smells and noise, but I wouldn't mind living near one - i.e. a couple of doors away. I think it'd be handy :D
TheRedWizard 16-04-2006, 12:08 I could shout my order to about 20 takeaways from my front door (London Rd.)!!!!!
The smells are bizarre - everytime you walk out of our house there is a different scent on the air: fish and chips....... then prawn toast...... balti five minutes later....... tomatoey garlic from an italian restaurant after that etc. etc.- very strange indeed!
No - as most of the drunks on their way back home from the pub would certainly stop by, and the litter.
bjshooter 16-04-2006, 18:31 I would if the price was right and I could make a few quid.
Swan_Vesta 16-04-2006, 18:44 I rent my place atm and it's within gobbing distance from two chinese takeaways, one indian, four pizza places one KFC and a baked potato place. It's all ok by and large, I can steel my resolve not to venture in to one of them quite adequately.
It's alright but you do tend to get tides of drunken spazzwits weaving their way about the place in search of dead seagull and road kill badger which masquerade as kebabs. Occassionally one of these inebriated miscreants decides to foul my gennel with their 40% proof urine ..... then it's not so good :(
upinwath 16-04-2006, 20:42 I would be happy tp live near a chinese take away as long as it had resonablr snap.
I live about 2 minutes walk from one but it's crap.

I agree with you Andy, but more than a couple of doors away.We all want one nearby, but not on our door step!Make it an Indian take away as well!
I wouldn't no way !!! can you imagine all the rubbish thrown allover and the smell would be terrible,Wonder if they would still charge for delivery though ? :D
ToryCynic 16-04-2006, 23:41 I rent my place atm and it's within gobbing distance from two chinese takeaways, one indian, four pizza places one KFC and a baked potato place.
Nearish Hillsborough? :)
sparklygem 17-04-2006, 11:03 I live about 5 minutes away from a chippy, chinese, indian/pizza/kebab place, and a pizza place!
I used to live opposite an old fashioned chippy in Salford. The area was just terraced housing, no pubs, so there was never a problem with drunks and I can't recall there ever being a problem with "youths" and the like. The only drawback was the overwhelming temptation every night to not cook something but just go to the chippy instead.
When I was a student in Walkley it was a nightmare because after several pints down the Uni I'd have to walk past the Lalbagh Indian on the way home and I'd always get the munchies and end up going in there. Thats the reason I've got a fat gut - all those curries.
Nothing to do with the beer......really....
Cherry_Pop 18-04-2006, 21:48 I live over 2 Kebab shops, Curry house, Chinese, Mexican, Pub, and Spar shop!!! Ace! What more could you want really??? :hihi: :hihi:
