All inclusive from £30pp/pn :hihi:

So where do i start with the Manor. An area that has already got a reputation for Chavsters up and down the land.

The reason for this is the Traffic Cops programme on BBC1 which whenever it was wants to show an example of a hair-raising car chase, or the consequences of car crime then it always begins the clip with the words 'meanwhile back on the manor estate'. The manor estate has a more advanced type of Chavster in it;s midst, they think why bother with buying a clapped out heap of scrap and spend their dole/social security money doing one up when it's simple. JUST NICK ONE.

It's gets better than that though, to enhance Chavster status in 2000 it laid claim to having a 12 year old pregnant girl in it's midst, i'm pretty sure i saw the said girl and offspring the other day in the chapel of worship known as Maccy D's when i saw a girl not much older than 16 screeching some instructions at a junior chavster. I couldn't decipher it although it sounded something like "fookinleavethilickesistaalooneasthiduntwantchipahl lovaem".

The Chavster doesn't shop in Manor, why when they have got Medahall or Tahn in easy striking distance on Supertram, which comes for free with the excuse "avelostmifare". Magical words indeed. It also has the added benefit of the Social in the opposite direction. Ideal for fraudulent benefit claims and crisis loans.

For the unitiated Medahall is also known as Meadowhall and is a large and expensive shopping centre which has a lot of expensive shops which enable the Chavster plenty of shoplifting opportunities. For the more affulent Chavster it has the holy trimuvate of Argos, Sport Soccer and Maccy D's. In fact it has a whole food court where the chavster can eat Big Mac's all day long. It also has a non-smoking ban which mean Chav can annoy the security people every day by smoking till their hearts content. The non-smoking area is by every exit door which also affords them the opportuity of questioning smokers along the line of 'gissafagmate" or gissafagluv".

The true mark of the Chavette is having the crisis of having a boyfriend in 'Doncatraz', a witty name for the nearest prison. The Chav will have had early contact with 'Doncatraz' as it also homes a young offenders unit housed there meaning the Chavette will have little difficulty in locating said place after their inital visit as their boyfriend will merely upgrade to the other block.

Come to the Manor and spot

-Badly dressed girls pushing terrorprams.
-Young children whose first words are swear words
-Burnt out cars
-And Burberry galore

You know you want to!"

:hihi: Classic Scarby...

But, I don't get why some people put the Manor down so much, its kind of funny that almost every stollen car in Sheffield disapears in the Manor :hihi: but whenever I've been there, I've just seen kids messing about on the roof of the community centre or something daft. Admitedly it might be a little more rough than other areas in Sheffield, but there are still plenty of nice people there :D like Scarby :hihi: and some people sometimes forget that :(

Some people just let it down for the others.

Have you been to the Manor recently Don?

as the saying goes,"there are no slums, only the people that make them" i lived on the manor and woodthorpe for over 30 years,it never used to be like people make it out to be now

is it because most of the parents are the ones who were brought up during the thatcher years, before then every one was working who i knew, the kids from the 80,s were the ones who grew up watching their parents sat at home with no work, have they adopted this as the be all and end all, that that is all there is, social security, living on a low budget, cant afford stuff so take it instead, prisons are full,so they wont get a heavy slap when caught, the police, hands tied become apathetic, the teacher knowing his words are lost joins in the general feeling of another day another dollar, the kid, watching the clock tick by until the sun goes down and allows them the cover they crave so they can begin again on a night of carefree violence and theft, its like belfast used to be,or beiruit, its the kids, they have nothing ,they want everything, theres no way for them to get it except by taking, they have been given to by the system all their lives, but only given enough to survive on,there is no sense of place anymore, pride has gone, along with the family stability and unity

What's your problem eh? Why do you see students as 'middle class'? Students come from all over the country and the world... :loopy: and what harm do students do on west street exactly?

Liked your post scarbs :D I remember just before I came to Sheffield i was watching the police chase programme and remember the police helicopter was called sierra yankee99 and I still see it sometimes!

Seriously though, the way the manor's portrayed prob doesn't do much for the problems it does have

Of course it don't, that text i found on another forum site somewhere (wish i'd saved the link now  )

I'm born and bred on the Manor, like the others say, it aint like it used to be, it's quietened down a right lot.

I just copied and pasted that text just to show how far people are up their own arses

So, nothing like that happens anywhere else in the country does it? :loopy:

I visit the Manor every week, Vikinglea area, and to date I've never seen any major problems at all, apart from the odd car getting pinched in broad daylight.

Some people on here clearly read the papers too much, they see 1 or 2 bad reports in the Star about the Manor, and automatically it's a "bad aree", pfft.. That kind of train of thought I'd expect from certain people who are so far up their own bum they can't see a certain wood in S11 for the trees, but normal people need to wake up and smell the coffee, sure Manor has its problems, what Council estate doesn't?! But it's nowhere near as bad as certain people and the press make it out as.

wouldnt it be a lot easier all round if people took a pride in the area they lived in and said " no,were not having it,"ring the police when you see a crime ,if they take their time ,write to the papers about it,ring your councellors, any time of day or night if you dont get the responce you expect. when jobs start getting threatened then some body will take action,as soon as we get the people who get paid to actually tackle crime realistically things will improve, for us and the so called lost causes

we have had a lot of trouble recently and the first time it happened I rang the police, they told me they would be out in 4 days after the 4 days they rang me back and said it would be another 48hrs as they were having trouble finding someone the second time they told me it would be another 48hrs I told them to forget it.

That's an indictment in itself.
It shows how far society has degenerated and peoples acceptance of it.

Fair observation Depoix.
Likewise, Grahame re: tolerance and acceptance.
The bad 'uns talk to you on the Manor. Now, go over to Arbourthorne and you'll find a darker side.

isnt S13 the fastest growing place in sheffield for property value, at the minute, i think so. I like the manor and woodthorpe, ok theres little pockets of trouble but there is everywhere to be fair. One thing that is true though is that in general manor folk have more manners than in the (utopiIf an)west of sheffield, ie. people smile in the street, chat in shop queues and to neighbors etc. IF we locked up all the criminals there would be no crime, why dont we?

i know there will always be people waiting, but some drunk sprawled out in the gutter should be handed to the specials to deal with, whilst assaults and robberies should be dealt with by regular police officers, they can always find the man power when it comes to visiting vip,s or footy matches, stand firm and tell them you want a result
