My friend has an apartment in the development at millsands, but it wasn't bought with a parking space, looking round the flats there seem to be a good number of parking spaces not being used, however when she has approached the company that looks after the site, they are unhelpful and won't advise on how to buy / rent a space in this complex, instead they offer space in a multi storey car park opposite, at £1000 - per year.

Short of putting up a note in the entrance halls of all the flats, is there anyone who knows what she should do to try and find a spare parking space to rent ? I recall some sort of website relating to city centre parking, but can't remember the address.

Cheers

Basically, they are buggered.

How can you tell if the spaces are used or not? I live there and there dont appear to be many empty spaces. I park outside.

I would recommend that you advertise on here for someone who has a spare space and is willing to sell it. I live in Coode House and our landlord provides us with one space in the multi-storey car park next door as part of the rent. I'm not sure whether that's just something he's arranged, or whether many flats in Coode House have the same deal. My flatmate uses our space, but there may be people who have a parking space and don't use it, and would be willing to let you have it for a price.

i would recommend buying a house out of town if you have a car.

Why the **** would you live in a city centre apartment and not use public transport.

thank you, you have been very helpful. But as we have already signed for a flat in the city centre, I wonder if anyone can suggest something more practical.

As I understand it the parking spaces are in the deeds of the flat and cannot be sold separately. Obviously people can rent them out if they wish to. This is the same with West One. She may well find one by putting up notes in the entrances - again, this is often the case in the West One complex.
