View Full Version : Ripped off by my sister

What should i do. The little bitch has taken me and my other sisters for a complete ride. Finally culminating in me paying her £50, as she hadn't been paid from work as she hadn't bothered to supply the correct details. Then paying her another £50 back which she was supposedly contributing to my flat (where she lived absolutely rent free for three months) just to get her off my back.
She has also had a pair of trainers from my catalogue which i'm now paying for as well.
She is a pathetic excuse of a human being, typically she had a child at 16 who stays with my mum cos she is not capable of taking care of him.
She has had help, advice and time from many people including organisations and family, but she would rather sit on her ass all day long. Why are some people like this?? Why do they only aspire to sell drugs and carry guns?
It ain't funny, i'm not laughing, just really angry about her mentality.
Has anyone else had a similar experience, if so what did you do?

People's Court. I'll look out for you on there. Seriously, someone needs to give her a damn good thrashing, and it's better to come from someone who loves her (ie. family, ie. YOU!)

Kick her out and let her fend for herself, see how well she does then!

People tend to behave dependant on how much they are allowed to get away with.

If she's never had to fend for herself, and always had loving people around to rely on, she's just gonna bum off you forever, or until you do something about it.

Harsh but fair, tough love...etc...

Mutter something about the small claims court, that usually gets the required results as it costs the plaintiff nothing (or so I'm told).

I totally agree with this, she can only take as much as you let her take. Dont give her any money and kick her ass to the curb. I had a similiar experience with my sister, we no longer talk to each other but Im richer because of it!

Serve her notice to quit your flat and stop bailing her out. Much like anyone else of that mentality your sister finds it easier to sit there with an outstretched hand than to actually do something about her situation.

When the supply of money and accomodation is cut off then she has to deal with it, until then she'll just blled you dry.

Small claims costs something like £10 per £100 you're trying to claim

Unfortunately my girlfriend is in the same issue but with ALL of her family. All of her family except one are not very nice people. They all take drugs, or drink, or something similar. They take her for a ride but she can't help but help them. For some reason they think we are loaded with money when we are the oposit and when she can't help out she is called all the names under the sun. She is completely different to them all.

I worry her family are going to send her in to a nervous breakdown sometimes, I really am. It upsets me to see what she goes through, she's more close to my family that her own. She only has one person she can really get on with on her side.

You are going to have to cut her loose if you are going to help her in the future. She needs to wake up to the fact that you have to stand on your own two feet in this world.

Yes mate, me too.

I've found some great threads and postings from 3 or 4 years ago that have answered many questions in threads active now.

If we only learned from history, LOL.
