The Spring 06 issue of Knitty (http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/index.html) is just out! About time too.

Some lovely patterns. I especially like Reid (http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/PATTreid.html) and, of course, we have more socks in the form of Hedera (http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/PATThedera.html).

I do like Tendrils, though doesn't it remind you just a bit of Clapotis, but a little more complicated? Actually, I've just looked a bit closer and I've spotted the beads! I'm really going to have to make that. It would be lovely for a cool Spring evening.

I know exactly what you mean about the projects mounting up. I'm in the middle of the Jaywalker socks, plus the socks from the new Knitty have just been added to the list. I've also got the Clapotis in the new colourway to start (when I get around to ordering the lovely Lorna's Laces, that is), and I've just ordered yarn for a top (http://www.love2knit.co.uk/acatalog/COMING_SOON_SOON_SOON.html) (pattern 2181, scroll down the page) for a friend's little girl. So much knitting, so little time... :) .

For a non knitting newbie to this section, coming across stuff like this: I do like Tendrils, though doesn't it remind you just a bit of Clapotis
Is somewhat disturbing, but slightly fascinating......

LisaH - Re the tendrils and clapotis - isn't it difficult knitting whilst wearing rubber gloves? :D

Draggletail, I'm sensing a need from you to embrace your inner knitter. You know you want to. Go on, let me teach you. I'm very good :) . You might want to leave the Tendrils til later though.

How about we start with Nauti (http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/PATTnautie.html)? Knit your own prehistoric creature... :D

Dont know - never tried:D But whatever floats your boat:P Maybe you could knit this http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring04/PATTpartyapron.html to wear with your gloves or maybe this is more your thing http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/PATTmarleysghost.html :D

Hecate, lisaH you've almost convinced me. Anyone got a pattern for pink knitted handcuffs and matching underwear? :D

Here you go. I think these (http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c116/the_rudeboy64/pattern6.jpg) might fulfil your particular requirements...

You have therudeboy to thank for those :) .

EDIT: Link contains image of knitted underwear and BDSM items. Although there are no bodies wearing the items (and I think they're actually quite pretty in a strange sort of way), you might consider the image to be not work safe :) .

Oh crumbs, it's not really my scene ..... I just posted spur of the moment mind drivel

Great pic, though - thanks Hecate and therudeboy :D

Pretty versatile this knitting lark isn't it?

EDIT: actually, those boots are rather fetching .....:hihi:

Just teasing :) . Therudeboy's posting of the knitting pics was entirely coincidental, I assure you.

I have found some other rather more attractive patterns in a similar genre though, if you're interested... :D .

Now. What sort of needles do you think you'd like? Bamboo? Plastic? ;) .

**blush** I most definitely should not have opened that at work - it was spotted:-o

LOL. Draggletail did ask for knitted handcuffs and matching underwear, and I did say that the pic was provided by The Rudeboy... Should have given a little indication of what was to come :hihi: .

I don't think it's too shocking, but I will add a warning to the post for those with faint-hearted work colleagues :D .

Oh, go on then. I'm sure everyone would like a look really. Just out of curiosity. :D

Let me just say that I'm not entirely convinced about knitted undies. Some of the patterns are beautiful, in a retro, 1920s style; but others? Mmmm. The jury's out.

Here are few I've found:

Rita Mae (http://www.whiteliesdesigns.com/patterns/llingerie/118.html) - Gorgeous, but definately knitted in the wrong colour.
Nicole (http://www.whiteliesdesigns.com/patterns/llingerie/122.html) - Pretty. Something should be done about the model's legs though...
Alene (http://www.whiteliesdesigns.com/patterns/llingerie/505.html) - Again, very pretty, but in the wrong colour! Are these people colour blind?
Hush-Hush (http://www.knitty.com/issuesummer04/PATThush.html) - Beautiful design, but I'm not a fan of ribbons.
Mon petit chou (http://www.knitty.com/issuesummer04/PATTpetitchou.html) - Designed by the excellent Kate Gilbert, she of Clapotis fame. I really like this one, although the colours are a little off; I'm not sure about red and pink together.
And finally... 302 calories (http://www.knitty.com/issuesummer04/PATT302calories.html) - Make of this what you will...

Draggletail, will that do? :) .

Oh, they're fine. Thank you. I thought it was going to be the more 'esoteric' stuff ;)
A bit skimpier would be good.
302 calories looks fun :D

Esoteric? :suspect: :) .

Such knitted items do exist, but this is a family forum... Just promise me you won't go searching on Google for them. It isn't pretty :hihi: .

Rita Mae would look lovely as a top with seed buttons as suggested - mmmmm. The whole idea of knitted underwear appeals to me about as much as knitted swimwear though:D

I can see what you mean, but with a fine silky yarn in a muted colour and a suitably 1920's-style pattern, I think it could really quite beautiful. I don't think that knitting could be used to replicate the more modern styles of undies though, and some of the other examples I've seen look absolutely hideous (not to mention completely impractical).
