flashbang 10-04-2006, 08:19 I suppose i'll get some sarcastic comments from some sf members, but yes I believe in life after death. I lost my father last year and since then I have started going back to the spiritulist church. I have had lots of messages from departed loved ones, and before anyone says the Mediums are just after your money they are so wrong. There is a free will offering and if you don't want to put anything in you are under no obligation.
I am so impressed by the work of the Mediums that my friend and myself are now attending development classes. I have lots of wierd experiences that sometimes scare me, but now im hoping that attending these classes some sense can be made out of them, and could be put to use to help others.
Our house has a very nice atmosphere to it but the strangest thing often happens around the stairs area frequently.
We often hear bumps, creaking etc as you would in any house however quite often I will be walking up the stairs and I reach the same step out of the 13- its always on the 6th step up that the atmosphere goes very cold.. you continue up the stairs and the atmosphere gets warm instantly again.. the cold spot seems to move as well.
Sometimes its the 6th step up - sometimes I have noticed it on the top of the landing as well moving to our spare room.
Its not creepy as such and we have investigated possible draughts etc but have found nothing of the sort.
As I said earlier- our house has a lovely warm atmosphere to it and its very welcoming so we hope that we have a former resident living along side us- we kind of know who it could be if anyone- it would possibly the old gentleman who lived here previously who doted on the house and his wonderful garden which we are in the process of restoring.
It would be nice if they paid there share of the bills with us though :hihi:
EdnaKrabappe 10-04-2006, 08:29 I've recently posted on a similar thread but yes intermittently over a number of years working at Trinity Street Arcade in Leeds. Always in the stockroom (incidently built on a graveyard.)
Once came into work with four other people- i was opening up. We walked down the stairs together and a bath bead was 'dancing' in the air. It fell and bounced like a bouncy ball towards us, landing at my feet. All four of us looked at each other. They were stored at the other side of the stockroom.
I was once doing some paperwork in the office- figures and sat concentrating. The stockroom lad who was a bit of a joker had been winding me up all morning so I'd sent him to collect some stuff at the other store. I heard this boo in my ear but ignored it as I thought it was him. After a few moments when he'd not done anything else i turned round and there was noone there. I went onto the shop floor and the two staff that were on were deep in boyfriend talk. I rang the other store and the Stockroom lad answered, He said why you checking on me you sent me here? There wasn't enough time for him to get from one store to another.
The kettle used to be on most mornings. This wasn't just for me. (Very considerate ghosts!)
Once when we were having a head office visit, I'd stayed behind to get all the paperwork done so there would be none to do in the morning. All the stock was neatly placed on the shelves and i'd gone round before the rest of the staff went home. I'd been working on my own for close to an hour, when a packet of deodorants fell with some force off the shelf. The thing is, it was a brand new packet, the only packet on the shelf and it had been at the very back of a 2 foot deep shelf and it fell off as if someone had pushed it forward. I've never got out of somewhere so quick!!!
flash bang I've been meaning to go to a spiritualist church for a while now but didnt know what to expect.
flashbang 10-04-2006, 08:50 flash bang I've been meaning to go to a spiritualist church for a while now but didnt know what to expect.
My friend felt the same was as you, she asked if she could come with me to find out what it was all about. They dont turn lights off, no one sits wearing a long black dress and veil, they are just every day people that have a wonderful gift.
We sing a few songs then the medium speaks and tells everyone how they got into spiritulism, after that he/she will start to give messages.
My friend recieved messages on the first three times that she attended, she was greatly impressed that the medium could know something that she had never mentioned to anyone else. She invited her sister along and the same happened with her with a different medium. If I were you Id give it a try you might not get a message at first but then again that's what I said to my friend, lucky old so and so.

SallyLaLaLa 10-04-2006, 09:03 In my Mum and Dad's house growing up a lot of spooky things used to happen. Things moving on their own, appliances switching on and off. I told my Mum and Dad about it at the time but they dismissed it and said I was being silly.
The spookiest thing that ever happened was when I was in the house on my own. I had a new packet of cigarettes which had come out of a box of duty frees down in the kitchen. I woke up and smoked one cigarette in bed, about fifteen minutes later I decided I wanted another cigarette but I couldn't find the packet. I lifted the duvet off and threw it on the floor, picked up the pillow and shook it out then chucked that on the floor. I had some books and cds lying on the bed so I went through them and threw them on to the floor too.
I still couldn't find the cigarettes so I went downstairs and got another packet. I didn't go back upstairs for a couple of hours, I had my breakfast and pottered about but when I went back upstairs..................
..........................................my bed was perfectly made and next to the pillow the books and CDs I had thrown on the floor were arranged with the largest on the bottom and the smallest at the top to create a perfect pyramid, on top of them was the packet of cigarettes and on top of the cigarettes was a fold out mirror creating the point of the pyramid.
Nobody was in the house for the entire time but me.
I don't think I've ever got dressed and left a house as quick as I did then. I told my Mum and she said "It's getting really bad when even the ghosts are hinting at you to tidy your room up" and laughed it off.
But, I haven't lived at home for years now and a couple of years ago it came up in conversation and my Mum and Dad admitted that they had both had really strange experiences eg phantom footsteps, bangs on windows etc, but they didn't want to admit it when I lived at home as they didn't want me to be more scared than I already was.
It seems to have calmed down these days according to them but it was unpleasant, it didn't feel like a nice sort of ghost.
I was in york last week and saw someone i knew walking about 10 feet in fromt of me but since she's died almost 2 yrs ago thats a little bit impossible then she turned the corner so when i got to where she had turned there was no sign of her just a long road that theres no way she could have run down that fast in the five seconds it took me to get there and a 12 ft billboard that i doubt sh could have jumped over lol
NEKRO138 10-04-2006, 09:29 When I first moved into a house I had, me and my three housemates all felt something grab our shoulder in the night. The night after, I saw a figure in my room and it began to crawl under my duvet. I sat bolt upright and turned on my lamp. The figure was gone, but the duvet was still raised where it had gone in. This was all in the first week of living there. I lived there for 2 more years and never experienced anything again there.
a friend of mine,s missus asked him if he would drop her and her friend at one of these meetings, she hadnt been before and wasnt sure if she would like it so she asked him to come in with her
now my mate is an ex para, he saw action in ireland, hes very level headed,he told her he wouldnt get involved with it,but would sit at the back
when the medium made contact it was for him, the lad she was talking to had died in my mates arms in northern ireland, she told him things that only he could know about ,what the pair of them got up to while serving together.
he never went back, but it has changed his thoughts about the after life
