Hi folks, you lot on here generally seem to know whats up so

We have the following PC set up
1ghz RAM, AMD sempron 3000 2ghz, win xp sp 2

Samsung VP D80 Digital camcorder (the tape variety!) - connects via firewire straight into back of PC

Software Pinnacle studio - Bundled with USB analogue video converter
roxio dvd builder (bundled with external dvd rw)
Adobe premiere

On all counts, it captures about 5-10 secs and then hangs as not responding
Most captured is 30-40 secs but that was a one off.

Any suggestions at to why cos at the mo the samsung is a white elephant

Does it hang with Windows Movie Maker?

Roxio and Pinnacle are the worst in their field in my professional opinion (I spend 6 hours a day converting VHS)
