an easy way ... 1st right click on ur desk top & create new folder .
then insert ur cd into ur cd rom .... then click start/my computer & then right click on the relvant drive which the cd is in & "open" this will open a new window showing all tracks on the cd.
then copy & paste the songs into the new folder on ur desktop , u can take the cd out then & drag & drop the files into ur mp3 using the software supplied with it in the normal way.
hope that helps , there are many other ways but if ur not up on how to do it thats about the easiest way

Riiiiight, lets go through what you need to do....
The CD is in raw audio format and for the music to play on an mp3 player the music needs to be in ... mp3 format! So to transfer the raw data from your cd to mp3 you ... rip files. Now depending on the mp3 player itself it would have come with some software that does the riping.
So can you tell us what your mp3 player is?

Short of reading the user manual that came with your player, try this:
Open your Windows Media Player it has a tab that says "Copy from CD" and it will tell you what to do from there (insert audio cd, rip, so on). Then use tab that says "Copy to CD or Device" to copy your music to the player or go to your "My Documents"->"My Music" and copy the files to player yourself :)

Nooooooooooooooooooo! On a pc these are just cda tracks, which aren't the actual tracks, I presume just pointers to the audio data on the cd. On a mac, finder see's these as aiff files, which is ok..

Unless you've a particular mp3 plugin, wmp won't grab to mp3's... iTunes will tho, if you go into preferences and change it... It's a hefty download though, and not sure if it will work on win98..

Do this, load software, insert CD then tell it to rip your music, easy as pie.

Think i have worked it all out now well nearly
I downloaded cd to my document/my music then when i checked the music file it showed me a music music album that i had just copied and when i clicked open on this it showed my all the songs on the cd so then one by one i draged them all into my mp3 file
not sure if i could have just draged the music file but didnt know if it would have played all the songs but it apears after copying about 45 songs my mp player is full yet it says it plays for 8 hours so still think i have done something wrong somewere oh well
