I used to have a trike I built myself- but I'm no longer able to ride through ill health and disability, so she had to go I'm afraid and I'm limited to a very boring car.

You don't have to be limited. Any car can be modified to suit the owners disiabilities, sorry this assumes your car is modded.

I have only ever seen one CX trike - did yours used to belong to another forum member and have a purple "lightening flash" seat ?

I can drive a normal automatic car with power steering, providing the controls are on the correct side. The reason that it's boring is because odern cars are boring compared to the trike and the classic SAAB that I had alongside it.

Part of not being able to ride any more is that I am right handed and it's my right arm that no longer works- so anything with handlebars if inherently dangerous- and part is that I can no longer do my own maintenance (which is why I don't have the SAAB any more either).

I really miss the trike- even though it was as slow as a car in traffic we could turn up at rallies with a 5 man tent, double air mattress and 12v compressor, cooking equipment, spare clothes and the MAG gazebo and deckchairs for truly chilled Saturday afternoons. The 'overtaking people with your front wheel at drivers' window height and smiling at them too' game was cool.

How do you spot the happy biker in summer? That'll be the one with greenfly in their teeth!

You can still ride a bike/trike onehanded if you want to I do and I have a lefthand brachial plexus injury.
