Do you mean outdoors or indoors ? I have 2 zebra and 2 bengalese in an indoor cage.Why are you thinking of it ?

Kept in good conditions they live longer than in the wild.

Oh..was just wanting to find a group interested in zebra finches for various tips and queries and such. Just to chat abut finches really. Although..right now..I'm having trouble to feed them fruits and vegatables.

Dont over do fruit just a treat now and again or they finnish up with pooops
Keep them away from apple pips.

ok.. copy on the fruit, Thanks :-) This is day 3. All seems well. They are building a nest out of some hay I have placed in their cage, although I don't want any young just yet..rather learn more about the folks first.

Great idea. I'm 3.5 hours away from the nearest pet shop..so I'll wait till I see an egg and try to duplicate it. I have plenty of plaster :-) Great tip. Thanks :-) I do want to add to the population...but not just yet. Need more time to learn how to raise adults..let alone young .
