View Full Version : Where to buy washing machine?
Anyone know of any decent places in Sheffield where we can get a reasonably priced washing machine from? Doesn't have to be new but I don't want to be fleeced and end up with a pile of junk to dispose of!
Looking for something with a couple of years at least left in it and ideally, a place that will deliver.
Cheers.
Errm, aint there an 'appliance' place on langsett road in hillborough?
We went to John Lewis 18 months ago when ours broke. Only wanted a reasonably cheap one. Got one for our price range, plus they increase the warranty to 2 years for free (I think they still do this on all their electricals), delivered it for free, and took away the old one (as long as it was disconnected and ready to go when they arrived). All in all very happy with that.
Cheers. After a 2nd hand one really to keep cost down for now.... John Lewis is probably a little pricey for what we were wanting to pay.
I thought there was one in Hillborough. Anyone have any experience of them or anywhere else?

Pretty sure I tried them a bit ago for a fridge and didn't have much luck. Can't hurt to try again though.
Cheers.
Vrsaljko 01-04-2006, 20:00 You could try Apollo at the bottom of Meadowhead on Woodseats? Thats where my parents got theirs from, and we haven't had any problems with it. :)
artstower 01-04-2006, 20:34 Muran, if you are a woman then wash the clothes by hand you lazy girl!
If you are a bloke then get yourself a wife and make sure that she knows her place in da home.
If all else fails then do what the rest of us do with clothe washing problems...... join a nudist type cult.
Seems obvious now eh?
The co-op seem to have the best prices, and they deliver.
nikkitheowl 01-04-2006, 21:17 there is a second hand washing machine shop on london road, dunno what it is called though.
Yellowrose 01-04-2006, 21:43 There is a cut price appliance place on Abbeydale road called something like DART.
Otherwise, try online. We bought a Hotpoint tumble dryer recently online through Miller brothers after searching lots of online retailers. It was almost £100 cheaper than the same model in the shops in Sheffield, including comet.
Cheers all ...
http://www.shop4electricals.co.uk is looking fave at the mo. I know I said in Sheffield but I have got to thinking that it's probably better to go for new if I can find the right one at the right price.
This place seem very reasonable - anyone have any experience of them?

I'd still recommend John Lewis; they very often have special reductions on machines that are either ex-display or returned as unsuitable or slightly damaged casing which is often undetectable and which, unlike their computers, are dependable, reliable machines.
i got one online from currys for 184 pound free delivery
