Anyone know of any decent places in Sheffield where we can get a reasonably priced washing machine from? Doesn't have to be new but I don't want to be fleeced and end up with a pile of junk to dispose of!

Looking for something with a couple of years at least left in it and ideally, a place that will deliver.

We went to John Lewis 18 months ago when ours broke. Only wanted a reasonably cheap one. Got one for our price range, plus they increase the warranty to 2 years for free (I think they still do this on all their electricals), delivered it for free, and took away the old one (as long as it was disconnected and ready to go when they arrived). All in all very happy with that.

You could try Apollo at the bottom of Meadowhead on Woodseats? Thats where my parents got theirs from, and we haven't had any problems with it. :)

there is a second hand washing machine shop on london road, dunno what it is called though.

There is a cut price appliance place on Abbeydale road called something like DART.

Otherwise, try online. We bought a Hotpoint tumble dryer recently online through Miller brothers after searching lots of online retailers. It was almost £100 cheaper than the same model in the shops in Sheffield, including comet.

I'd still recommend John Lewis; they very often have special reductions on machines that are either ex-display or returned as unsuitable or slightly damaged casing which is often undetectable and which, unlike their computers, are dependable, reliable machines.
