You like a drink...OK. But do you need a drink ?

Once alcohol becomes essential to your ability to chill out or socialise then you should seriously consider your postion :)

Try socialising occasionally on soft drinks, if you get ribbed about it just tell your mates you're on some medication that doesn't allow you to drink acohol, and periodic abstention is good for your liver.

i knew a rampant alcoholic, he used to -maybe still does- go without for a few days to convince himself he didn't have a problem, then he'd get bladdered, going without doesn't mean you're not an alcoholic but it may give you an insight into wether you need or want a drink.

A huge proportion of us have a problem, it is surprisingly rarely detected. To be honest if you suspect a problem then it is likely there is one. You should speak to your GP who will be able to discuss the options available to you. Good luck!

Do you get the fear. If you go to bed at night without having a drink, and you get cold sweats and have really ******d up dreams then you have the fear. Then you probably are. The only way past this is to ride it out. I had it last weekend it is pure evil.

See i drink daily i remember what i had (sunday) bottle of wine(monday)bottle of wine(tuesday)4 pints of stella + bottle of wine (wednesday)2 pints of cafferys 3 pints of larger (thursday) 2 pints of stella + 1 cafferys) I admit that this was a large week but if you takeaway the bottles of wine that would be an average week. whatever - i like to have a drink - as most of booze britain does, its just sometimes excessive drinking damages families and relationships- thats when it aint worth it

How does 12 pints of caffreys/Stella equal 16 units? its probably over 30 assuming they are about 4.5% strength. Anyway, units isn't what defines whether you are an alcoholic, it doesn't just mean having an unhealthy amount of alcohol.

There was a guy used to go in our local that drank a lot, I don't know what situation he is in now but it started off with him losing a foot, then his legs, he also had liver disease (can't spell the real name for it), I haven't seen him for years and he is/was a local lad so i assume he died, sad fact but very true !!!

I can't count I made it 8, I've checked on a government site and apparently it is about 36. Bottles of wine are 8 apparently so that is another 32, which is at least 68 all together. Benjimimo, I'd start collecting coats mate cos you is heading to the cathedral.
